The Sensi Paradise resort was beyond amazing. We stayed five nights in an ocean view bungalow (#19) and it did not disappoint. While you must be prepared as this resort, while the nicest we viewed on the island of Ko Tao for those looking for a bungalow experience, is not a buttoned up, bleached down resort experience, you must be willing and prepared to share your experience with all creatures of the jungle. Walking the pathways around the resort you may see centipedes, however, that was never a problem in the room, or pool area at the hotel; the mosquitos are also of bird size as you are staying in a subtropical jungle essentially, so bring bug spray (we actually ended up buying bug spray with deet in it as the natural citronella that we brought was not helping).
The rooms are very well kept, very nice mosquito nets were provided in each room, the air-conditioning was a god sent and worked like a charm, the sounds of the jungle were enchanting and like nothing we had ever experienced. We had a large lizard friend in our bathroom, but he was harmless, and as far as we were concerned a welcome visitor to help with pest control, there was either lizard or bat droppings in front of our bedroom door on the deck every morning, but it was easily cleaned up, and a reminder of the jungle as if you could forget when you open your eyes and see this amazing view!
The pool was always very clean and extremely refreshing as the water was a touch cooler than the ocean at the time of year we went, when the sun was smoldering.
It is just a short walk down the path to the beach, and the resort has a nice area to lay out with both full sun and shade, the resort is very close to shopping and restaurants, however, it should be made clear that Ko Tao is a very quiet island, and you can easily fall into the fold of island life. Karma bar just down the beach was a total treat, with great service, great prices, and live music every night.
Renting a motor bike is the best way to get around the island, and you can rent through the resort for a very nominal fee per day, petrol is a bit expensive, but since the island is so small two gallons will last you a week or more.
The water taxi's we used were not through the hotel, but the taxi vendors just up the beach, and we were able to negotiate good prices to putt around the island and across to Ko Nanguan (highly recommended day trip!).

After Ko Tao we traveled to Koh Phangan, Koh Samui and then on to Phuket (Kata Beach). Ko Tao and our stay at Sensi Paradise were by far the best experience we had on our adventure through Thailand. Oh, and the breakfast buffet was actually one of the best that we experienced in Thailand as well, but don’t forget your bug spray in the morning as well.

All in all, Ko Tao and Sensi paradise is the perfect resort for those of you who are not afraid to see and experience life in the jungle with a five star (in context) twist, be prepared to not be able to flush toilet paper though as there is no sewer treatment anywhere on the island, and please limit the amount of plastic as they burn trash on the island. If you are looking for a more sterile resort experience, I would recommend you not travel north of Ko Samui or Phuket where they will be able to better provide that experience.

This resort is perfectly located, just a few minutes stroll from the ferry ,but far enough away from the Mae Head to retain a resort retrest atmosphere.
The swimming pool area is very good, its layout makes for a very relaxing atmosphere.
The Bungalows are spacious, airconditioned and well fitted out.
We found the restaurant disspointing (breakfast only) great location next to the beach, but the food was at best average, and no cover on much of the food so the local flies had a feast

Room Tip: All the Bungalows looked good

I Visited Koh Tao With My Wife & Friends, and Was Very Pleasantly Surprised.
We Stayed In A Romantic Bungalow at The Sensi Paradise Resort.
Our Room Had Mosquito Nets Over The Beds, Decks Overlooking The Beach, Very Pleasant Indeed, My Surprise Was The restaurant, The Food & Service Was Very Good Indeed, The Waiting Staff Were Attentive, and Spoke Very Good English. Breakfast Was A Joy, Fruits & Food Nicely Displayed. The Hotel Pools Were Stunning, as Well As The Lush Gardens & Hidden Beach Which For Divers Is A Joy, As There Is A Submerged Wreck. We Would Certainly Return.

Room Tip: Our Romantic Bungalow Was A Short Walk To The Beach, So If You Want A Bungalow On The Beach, Ask F...

Was pleasantly surprised with this resort, the photographs do not do it justice, it is far nicer than it looks, the acommadation and public areas are beautiful, It is five minute walk along the beach to the ferry and centre of Mae Head, The restaurant overlooks the beach and sea with stunning views, staff are lovely and everything is perfect.

Just steps away from the main activity of Mai Haad the Sensi Paradise is at the quiet end of the beach. Accommodation is in huts on stilts up and along the hill so getting too and from your hut can be a bit of a work out!! There is a gorgeous set of swimming pools but we never used them as we spent our time snorkling over crystal clear water amongst a range of fish and coral...there is even a wreck to explore. To access the best area to snorkel swim to then around the furthest rocks to the left of the hotel and turn left. Respect the coral by not touching it with your fins and remember it is sharp!! The huts are amazing and set amongst the tree tops so you can recline on your day bed on your massive balcony and listen to the sounds of nature. You are in the tropics so there are mosquitos, geckos and ants about which is all part of the local eco system! The hotel has an excellent beach side restaurant and service every where at the Sensi is excellent.

Room Tip: Be prepared to walk uphill by steps a lot! Choose an air conditioned room.

We are a family of 5 (3 children 5-11). We stayed in April for 6 nights in a beach front family suite (number 16) with an extra bed.
Gorgeous hotel, rooms were lovely and all scattered around the resort giving the sense of not being overlooked or on top of anyone.
The pools were well planned and there were always plenty of sun loungers.
The breakfast buffet was nice, we had dinner in the restaurant one evening which was delicious. The restaurant had great service.
We were met from the boat, our bags were whisked away and delivered to our room. The transfer was good both to and from the ferry.
It was a short walk to other restaurants and services like shops, ATMs and laundries.
We hired the hotel's longtail for a snorkeling trip one evening, the driver was great, even teaching the kids how to fish.
It was easy and inexpensive to get around the island.
The only downside to our visit was my daughter lost her teddy bear somewhere on Koh Tao but the staff were very helpful in looking for it for her. I am still hoping they might find it one day!

Room Tip: Beach front rooms were lovely.

If you are wiling to spend a little bit more in an hotel in one of the Thailand islands this is a great choice!l This place is a bit of a "Zen-Spa Hotel" with a beautiful location by the beach and very convenient to the main pier in Koh tao. The bungalows are beautifully decorated with a huge balcony with a exterior bed where you can relax in the sunset....the swimming pool good is veryand breakfast had a lot of variety and stunning location right on the beach! It's about 20 min walking to sairee beach where all the main bars to party are but you have good restaurants just 5 min away with great sea food. So, its a very relaxing and romantic place but if you want to party you can still do it 20 min away.
