Do not rent a motor bike from the hotel!!!!!!! . Read the forums about scooter scames in Kho Tao. In front of the hotel there is a man (June) who rents out motor bike. I had a bad experience , he gave me a scooter and after 600 meters I had flat tyre. I'm sure I didn't cause it, the hole was there before, this one of the famous scams, be aware because no one in Kho Tao will help you if you get stuck

We stayed in room 312 which is right beside the water and secluded from the other bungalows. It's slightly cheaper than the beachfront huts as its on a "rocky beach". The view from the big deck and bed was fantastic, straight out to sea. There is good snorkelling out the front too. We loved being able to just take a few steps and have a swim in our own beach. While the resort is close to the pier the boats didn't bother us but we were furthest away. The resort is easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. We also hired a scooter from just outside the hotel for 250thb a day to explore the rest of the island. From what we saw the only resorts with a better beach/location were a long distance from the town and its choice of restaurants.

The bungalows are slightly dated and with all the dark timber can be a bit dingy. A coat of white paint would do wonders. Ours was clean and had a good bed and air con so had no problems. It also had a huge deck with a daybed which was lovely. There are Mosquitos but this is unavoidable on an island and we had a good canopy mosquito net. One night we were kept up by the squirrels in the roof but other than this the wildlife and gardens were lovely. The pools are great and spotlessly clean.

Buffet breakfast is ok but could do with some simple improvements eg. Keep the milk cold, buy some decent yoghurt that's kept cold and replace the food more frequently so it's fresh.

Overall a great stay in a beautiful and handy location but a few simple improvements could drastically improve the resort.

Room Tip: Room 312 is amazing

We arrived Koh Tao on 4th September for a 7 to 10 day stay holiday. We had 7 days booked at the Sensi Paradise possibly staying the full 10. Long awaited relaxing holiday!
The resort appeared very nice with lush gardens and inviting paths amongst the trees and rooms. The pool areas are also very attractive and inviting, although we never got a chance to use them.
We were escorted to our room, water front 'comfortable' room. It was not to be. While we did see some rooms around the resort that seemed to be recently updated and pleasant our room was absolutely nothing like what is shown on the photos. Very run down, old and tired. We had to be young and fit to go up and down the hill side path and innumerable steps to get to the room. Inside the floor boards had cracks between them allowing you to see the ground below. Only the bedroom had glass windows so it had to be shut from all the other areas in order to keep cool with the only AC. An old noisy fridge was in the lounge area and a wall fan. Window shutters had been nailed with bits of raw timber so only half the width could be opened. Very basic and no facilities other than what mentioned.
That night we had a decent dinner but when gone to bed we could hear all the boat, that are loud and noisy, going in and out to the main pier which is close by. This did not stop until late and started again before sunrise. We thought to ourselves that maybe we could get used to this.
In the morning went to reception to ask for a fan on the deck and to pay for the following 6 nights and proceeded to go for breakfast. Although I read of other guests saying that they enjoyed their breakfast I wonder if we are talking of the same resort. In 50 years I have never had a coffee so disgusting, it seemed it had been boiled many times over and it was burned and undrinkable. I had to purchase a coffee from the bar. The fruit was green, hard and tasteless. The papaya needed a sharp knife to cut it and it was uneatable. And we thought we were on tropical fruit paradise! All the croissants had been burned! It was most disappointing and upsetting.
We went for a walk into the village and had something to eat there. On the way back we went to reception to give them some feedback on our experience. If I was managing the place I'd like to know so things can be improved. The manager came out and listened to our concerns.
His answer was in calm and composed manner that since we did not like it we could leave. Just like that. We were in utter disbelief and unprepared for such response.
I guess the manager did not like to hear complaints at all. Just take the crap and dont complain. What an experience. Needless to say that after this show of disrespectful carelessness and arrogance we had no choice but to leave. We were refunded the 6 nights paid in the morning and packed our bags. We found accommodation about 50 metres down the beach on the Blue Diamond for 2 nights so we could look for something we liked better the next day. The following day was wasted going around the island looking for a suitable place for us to stay for the remainder of our holiday, a day we should have enjoyed rather than doing accommodation research. And we were left with the bitter taste of disappointment in our mouths.
We can only guess that the manager is working for a competing resort. His behaviour was totally unacceptable.
If despite what you read here you still go there, make sure you do not complain, just drink the burned coffee and shut up.

Room Tip: While some rooms have been recently renovated others have seen better days. Rooms are scattered on t...

Sensi
A balanced view
Ok here's the truth, this hotel, as all has positives an negatives,
+ great location , stunning views, well priced restaurant, walking distance to town,
- poor Aircon, bit noisy from boats in the front, wifi in and out But hey
It's only £60 per night
EXCELLENT VALUE! So you don't even notice there's no tv's!

Stayed here for 5 nights in early September. I chose the resort based on other reviews & its location to the dive operation we had chosen to use (Impian). Bungalows were great, we had a great view and the accommodation was very comfortable. We only really had one day to utilize the resorts facilities as the other 3 were taken up with the dive course but the pools are spectacular, breakfast is great, plenty to chose from, restaurant is good although quite European influenced when it came to the Thai dishes. As referenced in other reviews, depending on the location of your room, there are plenty of stairs to negotiate, there are also plenty of Mosquitos particularly around dusk but as long as you are prepared with repellent they are not really a problem, We had no issues with any kind of bugs in our room & the mosquito nets are always put down by the staff when they turn down the beds. Location is easy walking distance to town where there are a variety of restaurants, we particularily liked Bam Bam and ate there almost every night, great food & very reasonable, if you are walking into town from the resort take the first road up to the right and walk up approx 100 metres and you'll see it on the right hand side. Overall a great place to stay, the rooms are pretty dark which made studying for our dive ticket a little challenging but this might not be the same in all the room types. My only slight critism would be that some of the sheets had seen better days and could do with replacing, but a minor point that should not put you of staying.

The hotel is located close to the pier.
It is at the end of the beach.
There are restaurants and shops in the nearby.
The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful and clean (sun chairs available).
The hotel is composed of many bungalows in a nice lush garden.
The swimming pool is really beautiful and that's maybe why is it not really cheap at all.
The restaurant is located directly on the beach with a great view.

We had a "family villa".
In fact it was not a villa. It was only 2 rooms close to each other sharing the same terrace. Then the term "villa" is a bit misleading...
Both rooms had a direct great sea view with almost a private small beach in front. However, there are a lot of boats passing close to the shore and then it was a bit noisy. One night, we also eared the music from a close bar.

We had 2 rooms, 1 AC big room with outdoor bathroom (nice but mosquitoes in the evening!) and one quite small room with fan and indoor bathroom.
The AC was very silent and efficient. In the fan room, there were 2 fans, one of them noisy.
The rooms were nicely decorated. Towels and beach towels provided as well as bottles of water.
Rooms include minibar and tea/coffee, fruit platter

The breakfast is very nice and includes continental, american/english and chinese breakfast.

Staff was efficient and friendly.
Warm welcome with drink.
Pickup and drop at the pier included.
They were particularly nice when we came before opening of the breakfast buffet to go diving.
Massages more expensive than outside the hotel but of excellent quality in a clean and quiet bungalow. Recommended!

Globally we were very satisfied but, despite the good points mentioned above, it is a bit overpriced for the "villa" we get.
