“Perfect resort - beautiful rooms, amazing pool. Loved Koh Tao!!!”
Reviewed 31 March 2010

This was my favourite hotel in Thailand by a long way. We were greeted with complimentary cocktails and a porter carried all our bags up the path to our beautiful secluded bungalow.
While we were there we loved snorkling in the bay, complete with its own massive ship wreck! Also hired boats from a place on the beach, loved the short walk to bars/restaurants and hired cheap motor bikes to get around the island.
The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL even tho a little pricey compared to other local ones but right on the water and very romantic :)
The pool was incredible. Wow. Massive, with two split levels and little cascading ponds. Every day we ordered cocktails and food in the afternoon and sat around the pool. Amazing.

On our initial check in we were a little concerned and shared views of previous reviewers. That all changed within then next 2 hours and fell in love with the place. Rooms are dark but comfortable and very clean. We had room 23A and 23B. Huge balcony area and very close to beach and restaurant so not big hill to climb to room. No wardrobe so would have been difficult if were staying longer than our 3 nights but had an amazing outdooor bathroom which was a great experience and no creepy crawlies. A great view to wake up to. Beach area a little small but very nice. Pool area amazing! Really clean and lots of loungers. Restaurant one of the best we ate at in Thailand, perfect setting and staff were very helpfull and friendly. Ferry from Koh Samui very easy and staff on board very helpfull with luggage etc. Book ferry day before as ets very busy. Had longtail boat for day round Kao Tao island for 2000 baht. Great day out. Would recommend hotel to anyone who likes a bit of luxury with a bit of rustic Thailand. Cant wait to go back!

Found staff a little shy for Thailand but still very nice & helpful.
We are in our 70's so check that your bungalow isn't too high up the hill!
Fast ferry from Samui is a mad house -very crowded and be prepared to lug bags along some tough jetties!
Room's beautiful, no hot water in wash basin but showers great.
Food excellent but only 1 cup of tea or coffee at b'fast.
Bay is quite noisy with Longtail Boats but not a problem.
Roads uninteresting but trips by sea around Island superb.
Snorkelling great, walking great, nearby eating v good.
Would go again any day - but don't leave it too long - this tiny island is getting ruined!

This place is amazing. I have sent everyone i know to go there. each villa is so special, pool is fantastic , best breakfast i have had in thailand (been to Thailand 3 times). this place is sooo romantic and a 15 minutes boat ride to koh nang yuan, one of the world's best beaches. Staff are so hard working and very sweet.

We stayed for a week after a week at the Bo Phut resort in Koh Samui.
Travelled by Lomprayah catamaran which apart from luggage difficulties was fine (was fully booked on return journey so book well in advance).
Sensi Paradise produces conflicting emotions as evidenced by the varying reviews.
Firstly is Koh Tao for you? We were diving and had friends visiting their son so we had a good idea of what to expect. Found the island as away from it all as we expected, popular with back packers and gap yearers from the age of 18 to 60.Most tourists/travellers were under 40.
Secondly is the Sensi right for you.
We loved it. The pros being its location on a hill side at the south end of the main bay/beach. Good snorkelling spot with a 20 min swim into Jansom bay/ Charm Churee. Good coral, a wreck and small reef fish. Fabulous new 3 level pool always quiet with beds and parasols available and waiter service. We had room 36 romantic seaview with A/C. Probably the best view on the island right across the bay to Nang yuan.
Breakfast ok cereals, egg/bacon toast or croissants or Thai/Chinese all you can expect for 180THB. Staff were fine, mainly Burmese and many spoke good English.
The Cons are the location because we overlooked the bay/harbour the longtails are noisy!!! but for us the view outweighed the noise (same as the Grand Canal in Venice if you do not want the noise then you cannot have the view~) The room was "rustic" lacked a wardrobe and drawers and hairdryer (more of a problem for my wife than me). Only hot water in the shower not in the sink which is evidently common in Koh Tao. Very hard uncomfortable pillows
3 nights there were Raves on the island with boom boom bass music which necessitated sleeping with ear plugs as they go on to 4am. a serious downside for us.
Several reasonable restaurants, lots of cheap cocktail bars. would recommend Whitening, Lin Pau and the Sensi seafood night which seemed to be every night. But do not expect 5 star cuisine (Stay in Koh Samui for that) Cafe del SOl for snacks and cocktails nothing over 300 THB.
Lots of bays and hills for quadbikers, motorcyclists or 4WD "taxi" (you sit in the back)
500THB to go anywhere and if you want to haggle 400THB if it is quiet (so you can save 2 pounds but do you want to)
Would definitely recommend Sensi but be sure you do want to be on Koh Tao.

Beautiful clean and spacious bungalows built of natural and local materials placed in a quiet and beautiful environment. Price 2000bht. Could be the double and I would still not complain.

Very close to the main busy pier in Koh Tao. It was noisy and all you could smell was petrol fumes. I didn't let the children swim in the sea here as there was a film of petrol on the surface. We were disappointed and immediately cancelled four of the five nights we had booked. My husband hired a motorbike and went off around the island looking for somewhere quieter and more idyllic. We only stayed one night.
However, the pool was lovely and rooms beautiful but compared to the rest of Thailand, very expensive and really not worth the money.
