As your ferry docks, you realise that you have arrived at one of the most beautiful places on earth. Clear blue waters, huge rising boulders and emerald green nature to fill the spaces. From the relaxed theme at check in, to the long walk to your Villa under the trees, this is pure Island Style Living. Our Villa was Right on the boulders, overlooking the beautiful ocean, the views are something that you see in these holiday magazines, and you just sit and gaze in amazement at the beauty of nature.
The rooms were inadequately furnished and a little small, resulting in our luggage being kept on the benches in the patio, definitely needs an upgrade for a resort with such an amazing location they should consider keeping up with current hotel trends. The location for Breakfast was breathtaking, as can see the entire ocean from your table, with the waves crashing under your feet, sadly breakfast choices were very limited and definitely needs special attention. Halaal food was a problem, as the hotel was not familiar with Muslim Guests. We were pleasantly surprised and relieved to find a Halaal Pancake Cart – Ameen’s Pancakes – for the most delicious pancakes on the Island.
Management and Staff at the resort were very warm and friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Carry lots of mosquito repellent, as you will be viciously attacked at Dawn and Dusk.
The bay was absolutely beautiful and snorkelling was good with calm clear waters. The scuba diving centre however was not as professional as other centres, with their service being very impersonal and rushed.
The highlight of Koh Tao was Nanyong Island, too much to be said catch a long boat at the docks and spend a day there.

Room Tip: Request for higher up ,villas, more private ,and beautiful views.

The hotel is a series of villas on a steep hillside leading down to the beach. My wife and I stayed in villa 1 (I believe) which was approximately 3 metres from the sea. It is paradise. It's not cheap but worth it.

Beware of the mosquitos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read a lot of reviews on Charm Churee before I booked it and they didn't give the place enough justice as far as I'm concerned.
Yes there are stairs - a lot of them - so if you're wheelchair bound don't stay there. For the rest, do it! It's an awesome, rustic experience that perfectly blends in with Koh Tao's surroundings. The staff were awesome! Our scuba diving experiences were phenomenal! Thanks again Yuri!
Just do it, DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! You won't regret it.

Room Tip: Room #29 has an awesome view, is next to the scuba diving booking centre and the restaurant and clos...

We stayed in this hotel for 15 nights. We loved the location! The beach is wonderful but the water was often dirty with garbage and plastic bags. Staff did what they could with their kayaks and baskets to keep the bay clean. The setting with the big granite boulders and the many coconut palm trees lookes really romantic. We had first a simple room on ground floor of a big bungalow. It was too noisy as we heard the neighbors walking around on the first floor. Staff graded us up for free into a nice new spa bungalow. Nice and big with partial sea view. As my parents came as well for one week staff showed us many bungalows so we could choose the best suitable for my parents. Sometimes it can be steep up the hill for the bungalow. The breakfast is included and varies every day. Setting on the big bar with direct view onto the water is a dream!

Our time spent here was delightful....the staff always ready and more than willing to make the stay pleasurable and memorable. We stayed in room 32, the suite that everyone envies and deservedly so. Plenty of room , amazing Eco friendly amenities..I mean who hasn't always wanted to shower outside with nature all around?
The food was amazing... From the buffet breakfast, lunch at Elvis Bar, to dinner at the stunning Starlight restaurant which looks to Mae Haad and Sairee Beach, this resort has our tick of approval.
They helped us organise our snorkelling trip and more than willing to bring softer pillows to our room ( which from reception was quite a hike)
We recommend Charm Churee to anyone..... Many thanks for another beautiful Thai experience.

Room Tip: Every room is unique so hard to give a tip but the ones closer to Jansom bay will not disappoint

From the start our impression was not good, as the courtesy shuttle they send to pick you up didn't have our name on it so we had to pay for a taxi. On arrival they didn't have our name on that day's check in list. They eventually found it in their paperwork. They asked us to walk around for 20 minutes while the room could be made up. (Was obvious to us they had lost our booking) and there was no apology.
The beds are in need of upgrade as they uncomfortable, the furnishings are minimal and old. The bedroom only is airconditioned its a small fan on the ceiling which cools the rest.
The second night we were upgraded rooms as the first bed was very uncomfortable the next one was marginally better.
There was also a snake in the room as it can't be completely shut out. It could not be located. The first room leaked when it rained. The walk to reception was up a hill of about a 45 degree angle shown nowhere in the photos.
The food when we were there was not consistent, the Elvis bar served up a reasonable burger to my husband but the starlight restaurant was ordinary on all counts. We didn't eat breakfast there after the first morning as other than the eggs which are made for you everything is cold or luke warm and there is poor range.

Not what we were looking for our honeymoon. Although amazing views.

We took a transfer in hotel when we arrived on the ferry, we were met by the man with the plate, and quickly delivered us in hotel. When settling to us it was made free upgrade of the room. The room is big, with a terrace. The hotel very lovely, from the coast looks very beautifully. It is constantly necessary to go up-down, it keeps muscles in a tone :) In hotel there is no pool, only the children's. But to us it was and isn't necessary, because is the beautiful sea nearby. Jan Som Bay is very beautiful, and we walked on foot on Tanote Bay beach. The hotel not so new and probably demands updating. the summary - was pleasant.
