“Suburban hotel near Temple”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

Nice location in suburb of Lampang near the Governor's house and a noisy Temple.
Open air reception with nice gardens; rooms to the side on two floors in a separate building.
Basic facilities, good enough for a one night stay, on our six day road trip. Not much to say really, ...
Breakfast needs to be ordered the night before, with limited choice of Thai and European dishes. Again, not much to say really ...
Tourist highlight was a trip on a Horse and Carriage (Rot ma Taxi) around Lampang. A tradition implemented by King Rama V, as the only means of transport around the City during His reign.
We were picked up at the hotel and took the tour for 1 hour, and were dropped at the Night Market. After dinner, was a 20 minute stroll back to the hotel.

Room Tip: Good for a one night stay if on a journey elsewhere.

It's a bummer! This resort is beautiful with a lovely garden and exceptional friendly staff. But you hear every step, door, and noises from your neighbors. So, if you rise early and go to bed late, then stay! But if you like to sleep long and chill out, then pick another one … which is very unfortunate, because the whole resort is nicely designed …

Room Tip: Pick an upper room, so at least you don't hear the steps of the guests above you ...

Beautiful grounds, quiet location in lovely area, nice room, free bicycles, friendly staff, and very pleasant and helpful owner who speaks excellent English. Friendly, low-key Friday walking market in front. Wi-Fi inconsistent.

We stay for two nights to enjoy local food, temple sightseeing and hot spring nearby. Very friendly staff and we really felt like we are at home. Location is quite good since near to local market where you can explore the local food/dessert on morning and evening and minutes away from historic temple. If you stay during Fri-Sun, it will be more happening since night market around will be opened and you can enjoy variety of traditional food, goods. I would recommend if you want to retreat from busy life.

Absolutely worth for money

Room Tip: 2nd floor will give you better view to the garden...

Traveling by car, it was a bit difficult to find. It was, however, a nice stopover. The resort is located near some old city ruins on a quiet street. The gardens are nice. The staff was attentive. Restaurants were not close by, but the staff offered us bikes to ride and provided us with some suggested places to eat. Breakfast was OK. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good wifi connections.

The moment you arrive at this place you know why it is so highly rated. Beautiful and very peaceful house with a wonderful and relaxing garden. The staff/owner is great and gives you all the information you want. There are free bikes and he showed us a perfect bike itinerary on the map. The rooms are very, very clean all with a balcony.

The location is good in a nice area with a great morning and night market just 5 min. walk away.

wonderful stay, i would definitely recommend other people to go. If I could have done it, I would have stayed longer time. Lampang is a quite and very small city, if you are looking for crazy nights out it's probably not the best choice, but if you are trying to explore the real Thailand, far aways from the shows and fictions, you are in the right place, and the Auangkam resort give you a perfect cozy, welcoming and clean place where to sleep. Just one thing, breakfast it's not included, but if you want it in the hotel, you can order it the evening before (by 22.00).

Room Tip: as seen in some other suggestions too... ask for the room on the second floor, so you will not hear...
