“Shopping ที่ Doi Wao”
Reviewed 1 January 2013

I went shopping at Doi Wao market during this past holiday. Things are more cheaper than the Burmese market. You can find more quality merchandise right on the near by shop, but the best price are in the small corner shop.

“The Temple of the Mountain of Scorpions”
Reviewed 26 December 2012 via mobile

Be prepared to climb over 200 steps along the beautiful Naga railings to get to the Temple. Everything is built and created by the monks, I was told. The Scorpion sculpture is a sight to behold, as are the views of both Myanmar and Thailand. Street food and shops below, peace and quiet on "The Mountain" above. We went at night and the temple grounds were especially peaceful. Enjoy. Oh, there is a museum and cafe also, but were closed when we climbed the stairs after 6 pm border closure between Thailand and Myanmar.
________________
Tip: Be on time before border closure. There are things to process so take all this into account if you venture into Myanmar. It's strange to see traffic go from driving on the left to driving on the right (and vice versa) immediately crossing border.
OBVIOUS TIP: Watch out for pickpockets and people offering you tours!!!
