“Lychee garden”
Reviewed 13 February 2014 via mobile

We visited Pai and stayed at lychee garden in 8-11 at Feb 2014.
On the positive side, rick the owner is very nice and was attentive to our needs. He recommended us places to visit and gave us a map with his hotspots. He also gave us lots of free bananas and was efficient in fixing the broken down t.v.
The place is beautiful.
It has strong wifi signal. The cost is not too expensive.
On the negative side:
- The room is very small (but you're out biking around Pai any way). It's basically a bed and a shower.
- It gets really cold at night. The airconditioning does not heat.
- There is a rooster in the yard that wakes you up a few times at night. The place is not quiet in general. Be prepared.
- The bed is not too comfortable. The mattress is hard.
- The shower is a bit tricky to handle.
- The t.v has hundred of channels but none of them speaks English.
- The place is not near any of the recommended places to see and it is outside of town. You must get a motorbike.

One word of warning. We wanted to take a taxi to the airport. Rick offered that his friend would drive us. We were thankful. But when we got to the airport this nice friend all of a sudden asked for money for the ride. We were strangers in a strange land and thought that cultural differnces has made this misunderstanding. We had no money available to pay. This "friend" offered to take us to a bank to withdraw money (when we have a plane to catch mind you) which finally made us take a stand and say that if the ride was to cost money, it should have been noted in advance. The guy mumbled something and left. We are not sure if rick knew about what we think is a scam attempt. Rick always noted the price ("breakfast 130 bat. Banana is free") so it's not likely he neglected to say it this time.

We stayed 3 nights at this beautiful, nice and calm place. The most perfekt place if you don't want to stay in the middle of lively Pai but still want to be close by.You'll need a motorbike or a car otherwise you won't be able to get around.
I was stomachsick one day and Rit and his wife were so nice to bring me tea and bananas all day long.
It's not only a beautiful place-it's also the people that run the place that make it so special.

I stayed at Lychee Garden back in November 2013 and I feel really blessed to have gotten to meet Karni and Reed and stay in there Bungalow. They are a truly beautiful couple that are the epitome of hospitality and kindness, its obvious they love what they do sincerely care for their visitors. The facilities were awesome, clean and felt like home away from home. I highly recommend staying in Lychee Garden, it was all around lovely and worth the little trek outside of Pai to get there.

Things I loved:
1) Breakfast with scrambled eggs, tomatoes and cucumbers... so good!
2) Fresh Bananas
3) Lounging in the swings
4) Listening to music and cruising around in the Moped cart
5) Karni's recommendations for things to see... highly recommend the lookout above the Chinese village

Thank you again Karni and Reed for the beautiful stay and for going above and beyond for us! It was a trip we will never forget! :) Beth, Melissa and Jessi

We stayed at Lychee Garden Bungalow for 3 nights in Pai. We had an amazing stay; picked up from the bus station and immediately got the possibility of renting a motorbike.
The bungalows are great - however at nights it can get chilly in January. So be prepared and bring some warm clothes for the evening.

This place is one of the most relaxing places I've ever stayed at. The perfect combination of clean spacious rooms, beautiful tropical gardens, and the most friendly owners I have ever met. I really felt at home and peaceful. The owners Rit and Karney made my friends and I feel like we were part of their family... Such helpful, genuine, and amazing heartfelt people. I will definitely come back here when I am in Pai again.

Lovely spot in a Lychee grove, beautifully decorated, immaculate; and Karnee is an intelligent, energetic, and most helpful host. The area is great for walking through the countryside. I doubt there is another place near Pai as fine a stop as this. I'll be back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: All equally good.

When we arrived this place we were amazed:
Everything was so beautiful, the garden was so special and inviting, and room we got was the cleanest room that we had in a long time.
The owners are super friendly and make you feel like home from the very first seconded.
They explain with a lot of patience about the area, activities, sights, good place to eat...
We enjoyed our time in pai espiaclly thanks to this piece of heaven.
If you worried about the distance to pai center, you shouldn't- it's only 5-7 minutes of drive on motorbike ( we rent at the place very good motorbike), and the this shoret way is so beautiful.
We definatelly recommended this place!!!
