“Nice enough”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

The room was clean and tidy although could have done with a little housekeeping during the stay.

It's quite stylish and only a 5 minute from the main strip. The only downsides is that there's no shower curtains which means the toilet paper which is right next to the toilet is pretty much always wet, and the bed is as hard as a rock.

Other than that it's quite enjoyable

As the hotel was so cheap I was expecting the room to reflect this but I was pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is family run by really nice people. We booked our first night online and then decided to stay another night because it was so nice and such good value. Upon booking my room the lady on reception gave me a discounted price of 600 b.

The rooms were very clean other than cobwebs high up in the bathroom which would have been very tricky to reach. The room had both AC and a fan. Our balcony had a gorgeous view of the mountains and the white Buddha.

The only downside of the hotel for us was the shower ran cold one day but it may well have been that we hadn't worked out how to adjust it properly- had it been an issue we would have asked at reception and I'm sure they'd have been quick to help.

Pai is very small and so from the hotel all the main stretches of road were a 5-10 minute walk away.

I would really recommend anyone considering this hotel to stay here.

Stayed here for two nights with friends. Could not have been happier with out accommodations and the helpful service. The owners were so helpful with our many questions. This place, both outside and inside, was kept very tidy and neat. I am a very clean person and was looking for a nice place to stay that didn't cost more than twenty dollars a night, and I could not have found the more perfect place. Being so close to town I was worried about the noise, however I found that this never became an issue. You are far enough away to not be bothered by the outside noises. The location is perfect. Very, very short walk to the walking street and many restaurants, and up the road the opposite way is a nice outdoor farmer's market. We rented bicycles and biked from our place to I love Strawberry and the canyons. Perfect weekend getaway.

Stayed at this quaint little place for 6 nights, and regretted not booking a place away from town right from the beginning.

Payi Resort itself is situated conveniently right in Pai town, and thus ensures that everything is right at the door step.

However, if you're not a party animal and are looking more for some peace and tranquility, you'll do better to opt for a place a short distance from town.

In my entire time at Payi Resort, there wasn't any room service to speak of. Water and toilet paper had to be requested for at the counter, so do bring your empty drinking water bottles to exchange for new ones daily. The curtains were mouldy as well. Otherwise, the place is relatively clean.

As for location, due to the fact that it's in town, I didn't get any good rest throughout my time there. The walls are made of concrete, and were thus not sound-proof. This means that all the noises from the streets and resort neighbours could be heard clearly.

So, if you enjoy being in the heart of all the action and aren't looking for a restful holiday, Payi Resort would suffice, since from all the other reviews, my complaints seem pretty universal for all places offered within town itself. However, if peace and quiet is what you're looking for, you'll do better to look elsewhere a little outside of town.

Room Tip: Opt for a room on an upper floor for more privacy.

Great, clean place to stay. A couple minute walk from everything Pai has to offer. Room was very spacious and nice. Sink handle was broken, but the wifi was great and our room had a lovely porch right off the entrance! Owners were very nice though we didn't see much of them. Awesome common area on a balcony overlooking the street with excellent views of the mountains. We booked through Agoda, but that was a big mistake.. They had plenty of availability and we definitely overpaid even though it's supposedly high season..

No restaurant, but a nice little convenient store two businesses down with the best beer prices in town.

We stayed at Payi one night only, but could have stayed there longer! Great location, a bit off the main road, but only a three minute walk. Our room looked nice and was very clean. Kind staff, was the nicest out of the three places we stayed in Pai.

If you stay in pai and don't want to get eaten by the mosquitos by the river, stay at Payi Resort! It central in the city and since pai is very small you can walk easily everywhere. The rooms are very clean and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is clean and for 500Baht for the fan room, no one can complain. There is no restaurant, but Pai has enough and just around the corner you can eat for 30Baht.
