“How did this get to be the number one hotel in Pai?”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

I can not believe this is the number one rated hotel in Pai. We stayed here on the way back to Chiang Mai after visiting Mae Hung Son. We were unable to get a reservation at Hotel des Artistes where we stayed on our on way to MHS. there is no comparison between the two hotels. Pai River corner is just okay. Nothing special about it at all. Staff were not particularly attentive at check in or during our one night stay. Breakfast was not very good. Location on the river is nice and right in town. Those are the two best things I can say about Pai Corner.

Nice resort by the river. Pai is easy to walk around, only the elephant camps and villages are out of town.
By north American standards the accommodation is rustic, charming, and clean. Nice view.

Well situated luxury hotel. Pricey for Thailand, but if you want the best in Pai then this is probably it.

Nice airey rooms and a big, incredibly comfortable bed lead to an amazing nights' sleep. The rooms are clean and well equipped. We stayed in a upper floor deluxe (the standard) room and have no complaints about the room.

Breakfast was also fantastic; the best poached eggs in Thailand along with bacon, hash browns, tomato, onion and baked beans.

Other than the price the only other thing I would change would be the temperature of the pool; so unbelievably ice cold I couldn't get into it!

Breakfast overlooking the river, a lovely pool, attractive, clean, comfortable rooms with individual porches, a friendly, helpful staff - thanks Atchilee!!!! A beautifully designed setting and I loved the hand painted flowers on the walls of the room. The Pai River Corner Resort was truly a wonderful find. When you visit Pai, be sure to rent a motorbike ($3.00 a day!) and ride to the canyon!

Room Tip: Ask for the ground floor

This was by far the best place we stayed in during our stay in Northern Thailand. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. We stayed in a few different rooms but our favorites were 15 and 16 which both overlooked the river. We got a very good rate as we were there during the low season in August. Also included in the price was a delicious breakfast. In addition to the breakfast we also tried other dishes at the restaurant, which is very beautifully situated right next to the river. Even though there aren’t a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, the staff was happy to cook vegetarian for my partner and I. Everything we ate there was wonderful, but remember to tell the chef if you don’t want your food too spicy! I particularly recommend the unusual sounding, but amazing, lychee green curry. Last but not least, we want to mention the staff, which was amazing. The waitresses, the chef, and the wonderful manageress Anchalee all went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. If we could give this hotel a higher mark, we would. We can’t wait to go there again.

Good value low season. The monsoon in pai is very manageable.
Beware of Mosquitos as malaria is reported in the region. Air conditioning or mosquito net a must and daytime protection as these predators hide under restaurant tables

we stayed in the Spa Villa No.7... having our own pool with jacuzzi was awesome :) The main receptionist Anchalee is the nicest lady in Pai :) Very helpful and sweet!! We love her :) Our room didnt have a view but the main pool area does and its lovely to swim there amidst the fields and mountains. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a little Gecko living with us :) Take bug spray to make sure you kill any hiding creatures! As the sun goes down they come out and they are not small :p We where safe in the room but all night we kept hearing an orchestra of strange noises...
I think this is the nicest place to stay in Pai... i had a look at the other resots in town which didnt look as nice....the ones out of time seemed beautiful too but about 10 mins away so not as comfortable!

Room Tip: Spa Villa!! a bit pricey for Thailand but well worth it and sooooo cheap compared to Europe so treat...
