This was my second time to stay in Golden Hut. I'm not saying it's awesome, but decent option when the better Guest Houses are full.

I visited in High Season, so for 400 baht, we got a 2 bed room overlooking the yard. In low season, it was 150 baht overlooking the river.

As it was December, the nights were chilly, it was horrible to not have HOT water from the shower - luke warm at best. WIFI was available in the lobby but as the wifi signal is not very strong, I was not able to pick up the signal from the room.

The bed/sheets were old. I felt the wire frame from the bed, poking into my back.

The host was friendly.

Final verdict: Good people, nice and friendly. Good location. The place is old and needs a refresh.

Room tip: Stay in the rooms overlooking the river. The rooms in the courtyard do not get a lot of sun.

Stayed for 2 nights, everything was ok - for 200 baht we got a three bed room which is as cheap as we could find and all the basics were there - beds, mosquito nets, bathroom, wifi. Staff was nice, people in other rooms were mixed, some cool and some loud. Pretty ok. Enjoy

By accident came across this place on the day I wanted to leave pai. Met some lovely local or long term people And stayed for four more days in the end. Huts are fine, not very luxurious but no need. Lovely river location, good breakfast, loads of guitar playing and singing every night. People know where all the nice parties are and are very open to take you there as well. Will definitely be back!

Nice guesthouse, with little cozy bungalows. There is a really nice garden with hammocks, where you can relax for hours. The resturant has a beautiful view at the river an mountains in the background. A nice place to stay.

We paid 200B per night for a bungalow, for 2 ppl (we went in June, so not sure whether this is a low season rate).
From the outside our bamboo-clad bungalow (on stilts) looked ready to fall down and we did not have particularly high hopes for the room, but we changed our minds once we’d looked inside. It was very small, but clean and not too scruffy, had a toilet & shower room attached, and a private seating area on the balcony at the front with an amazing view over the river and across the valley to the mountains.
We thought this was good value for money, but there do seem to be literally hundreds of guest houses to choose from in Pai so it’s probably worth shopping around.
