“Unforgettable Winter in Sangkhla”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Samprasob means "the joining of three" - the resort is located above the hill overlooking a huge water body where three rivers meet, thus the name.

At around 13 degree Celsius in one November, our stay here in Samprasob Resort was a memorable one. Clean room and bathroom. Service was good. The view from our room was so unforgetable. We could see the famous bamboo bridge, Sapan Mon, which had been hit and damaged by floating debris.

Swimming pool was clean and beautiful. Food from the in-house restaurant was great. Buffet was average.

A nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Higher floor for a better view.

It's a great view from the room. We saw a beautiful sunrise and sunset from the room.
There is the woddern bridge near the hotel about a few minutes walk.
This hotel is a good location for sight seeing.
We stayed the villa the room is a little old,but clean room.
The hotel stuff was very kind.

My wife, both of my sons and I stayed overnight here on 27 December 2013. The hotel locates at very good viewpoint. You have bird eye view from here where three rivers join together. You can see the old damage wooden bridge and the bamboo bridge on one side,as well as Kaew Laem Dam on the other side.
The building of the hotel is new. Our rooms were downstair close to the swimming pool which also has a very good viewpoint. The room is spacey and clean. There are TV, air conditioner.free WiFi (weak signal) ,tea/ coffee pot. The bedding is OK. The toilet and shower is large and clean.
The reception and services were perfect. The breakfast was barely acceptable.
But the a la carte dinner was good and inexpensive.

They say it is all about "Location, location, location". Well, this place has got it. Right at one end of the Mon Bridge and yet only a short walk from the centre of town (such as the centre of Sankhlaburi town is!).

Probably the best place in town as well as definitely the best location. Other places we saw that *looked* like they might be good appeared to be empty (deserted car parks, not a soul around) or were nowhere near as well sited. Samprasob always had vehicles in the carpark and always had plenty of people around at breakfast and dinner times. A short 10-15 minute walk to town up a gently sloping hill, and a less than 5 minute walk to one end of the famous Mon Bridge (but note, a short walk down a horror of a hill that is even more of a horror going back up!). But there are also bikes and other small conveyances for those less fit.

The resort has a variety of rooms from basic hotel type to cabins going down the hill to the bridge. Some very nice looking VIP cabins. We stayed in the hotel section and the rooms were clean and sufficiently appointed - average but more than adequate.

A passable breakfast (you need to be strategic to get a warm egg and the bread could easily take wings - but one also needs to remember where one is!), and the kitchen is inexplicably closed during lunch time. But food at dinner time was excellent - although some things were not on the menu. Again, one needs to remember where one is - Sangkhlaburi has limited resources and stocks so once something runs out they have to wait for the next delivery - or catch in case of some fresh fish types from the lake. What we had was very good and well-priced.

Staff were helpful and friendly, and English for most seemed to be pretty good. Again, considering the geographical situation of the area and the level of training the staff probably get, quite impressive.

Town itself is pretty, but quiet. 2-3 nights is more than enough to explore the area.

A little stall at the foot of the hill at the end of the bridge has good local coffee and does boat hire (300 Baht for an hour and they will drop you off at a floating restaurant for lunch that is walking distance back to the hotel - Pae Mitsumpun I think it was called) - you just have to negotiate that blasted hill back up to the resort!

Would definitely stay there again and was definitely worth the price I got via one of the booking sites.

Room Tip: Get a room or cabin closer to reception and the top of the hill. Otherwise you will do a fair bit of...

Title says almost all. It's good hotel for rest and if you have only 1 or 2 days to enjoy Sangkhla. Food in resturant is OK if you like Thai food and too much lazy to walk/bike/drive into town (2 km away) to enjoy cheaper and more delicious one.

Please don't forget nature of local ethnic people here before demand anything. They go slowly, quietly, leisurely and relax. Why? Because people who works here are them.

If you like fast life, loud music, psychedelic light .. you shouldn't be here from start <grin>.

Room Tip: Higher price rooms has better viewpoint. If you bring your childen, ask for pool side room. Not big...

The room was very clean. There was balcony in front of the room. The wooden bridge could be seen from there. From the resort, it was easily to walk down to the bridge. It was raining all day when we were there so we decided to have dinner at the resort's restaurant. The food was great and the price was not expensive at all.

Highly recommended. We would suggest to book the room in advance rather than walk-in.
