“Good place to be along with God and rethink your life and actions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

Originally I am from Bukhara, and this place is very special to me. I come to visit Bakhautdin Naqsband at least once a year. Its a good place to be along with God and rethink your life and actions. Usually I make a wish while being there and it always come true so far...

“a must visit, especially for muslims”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2011

This is a spiritual place with rich islamic history. If you are interested in islamic spirituality, this is a must visit in Bukhara.
Dont miss the spirituality museum inside the compound, and the mausoleum of Sheikh's mother (but u have to walk around a kilometer to visit this).

“Intriguing - thoroughly modern - place of pilgrimage”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2011

Although a site of pilgrimage for centuries, this sufi shrine (around the burial of a 14th C Sufi master Bahauddin) has been very extensively rebuilt and embellished as a national site of Uzbek pride since independence from the USSR - and people flock there in droves, as they couldn't under Communism. This human and religious dimension alone makes the visit a must - as I say, the architecture is of no note.
