The approach to this lovely place is a bit rough. The road from the square is current undergoing some work and initial impression was shaky. Once inside, the charm sets in. My room was spacious, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Breakfast was very nice and varied. The key element here is service. Manager Aziz took care of booking us a guide, arranging drivers, dinner recommendations, and laundry help. The location is great as well. Well worth the walk up the street works to find the gem.

Room Tip: We stayed in the older part of the property. A new wing is available but we did not see those rooms.

I stayed there for two nights in April 2014 with a small group of polish tourists. It is a very good choice in Bukhara for families, couples or small groups. The historical part of the hotel (the entrance, courtyard, dining-room) has a real historical atmosphere. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms are very clean. Cool, beautiful courtyard where you can sit and rest before sleeping, almost feeling the soul of old Bukhara. Aziz, the english-speaking menager, is very helpful and very, very friendly. So are the owner and the staff (russian-speaking, I do not know about other languages). We were feeling like very welcoming good friends. Food on breakfasts (buffet) was fresh including homemade pancakes. The hotel is very near the old city center. The only important inconvinience is that you have to walk pulling your suitcase to the entrance (5 min) - but it is worth of staying in this hotel. I did not try to use the Internet so I do not know how it works.

B & B is in the heart of the old town and most of the sights can be seen on foot. Very quiet and rooms are clean and comfortable. Manager Aziz is extremely helpful; he arranged a guide for me as I was only there for a short time. He also arranged pick-ups and drop-offs at train station and airport. Aziz speaks v good English. Beautiful courtyard where tea is served on traditional bed and lovely breakfast room with original features. A little dearer than my other B & bs in Uzbekistan.

Perfectly located in the middle of the old town, in an old, historical building.
Rooms are located around a quite green courtyard with, where breakfast is served.
Rooms are very clean and do offer full comfort. Prices are still very reasonabel (USD 60 per night/room). Highly recomendable.

We stayed three nights here in October 2013. A terrific find. Aziz - who manages the hotel - is warm and welcoming. Many of the small hotels in Bukhara were filled - mostly by tour groups - the nights we were in town. We were thankful that there were no tour groups at the Hovli Poyon during our stay. This small hotel is located in quiet area of the old city but a short walk to the center of the old city. The hotel has a spacious courtyard area, a beautiful breakfast room and comfortable modern guestrooms. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: It didn't seem like there was a bad location within this hotel.
