This is definitely the WORST place we met in all Usbekisthan. Although it has a nice courtyard and seems to be a traditional and warm guest-house... the management of this place is horrible.
- In the room we asked there was a toilet not working (completely out of service), the manager said "no problem, I will fix it"... result: in the middle of the night we was discussing with this very bad man where we can clean our teeth or make a piss! he told us "tomorrow", as the people doesn't need to clean themselves usually. This manager is used to scream and talk to you in a very bad way, maybe he doesn't know to work for his client. we really suspect also the boss of this place is not clever to select so badly his staff..
- The wi-fi they show you as another service they offer doesn't work! they will always say "now it's not working" or "in the city very bad connection".. LIES! they just switch off the connection, probably to use it for themselves.
- The restaurant is under the pavement. It is hosted in a cavern you reach by a long chair..maybe suited for the rude men they are.
- Tha breakfast was the worst we met in our long trip in Uzbekistan, of course they serve the, salads, eggs.. but they seems made for the geese.
- When we asked for any kind of pleasure (phone, luggage storage, water ...) we always found problems and they always were unsatisfactory...
what else, we was just very sad for the young men working there, he seems to be very good worker and we suggested him to change place because a place like that will have no chance ! Keep away from it.This is defenitly the WORST place we met in all Usbekisthan. Althought it has a nice couryard and seems to be a traditional warm guest house... the management of this place is horrible.
In the room we asked there was a toilet not working (completely out of service), the manager said "no problem, I will fix it"... result: in the middle of the night we was discussing with this ugly man

BEWARE !!! AVOID THIS B&B if you don't want to have a bad surprise at the of your stay !!!

In fact, we strongly suspect that the employee at the reception working during the night shift and early morning is a THIEF who stole from us 1000 US$ !!!

THE FACTS: It happened like this. We paid the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel the night before leaving to the guy in the reception. We told him we had to take the train (SHARQ) leaving to Smarkand early the next morning at 8:00 AM, so we asked him if it was possible to take the breakfast at 6:50 AM in order to have enough time to go the train station after our breakfast. Initially, he refused and argued it was not possible as the breakfast only opened at 7:30 AM.
Then, after coming back to the hostel from dinner that night, he suddenly changed his mind and proposed us to take breakfast at the hour we wanted. He was very insisting and kind, it was over exagerated! (unfortunately, we realized why after, too late..). We said it was ok and that we didn't have time to take breakfast but he kept insisting, and we couldn't say no.
The next morning, he came to our room to knock on our door to make sure we would have breakfast. Again, is kindness was very suspicious. He finally convinced us to have breakfast and he took us personally to the dinning room which was far from our room in the level underground the patio. He personally took care of accomodating us in the farthest table from the entrance and of serving us the breakfast. During the 10-15 minutes we had breakfast, we highly suspect (99% sure) he went to our room with the master key and stole from us 1000 US$ that were hided in hand backpack. We realized that we had 1000 US$ less after we count our money 4 days later in Tashkent.

So, AVOID THIS HOTEL AND IF YOU'RE FACED WITH THE SAME SITUATION AND YOU'RE STILL IN BUKHARA WHEN IT HAPPENS, REPORT TO THE POLICE ! (ACCORDING TO OTHER ADVICES FROM OTHER TRAVELLERS WHO WHERE STOLEN TOO, IT APPEARS THAT THIS EMPLOYEE AT THE RECEPTION IS IN CONNIVENCE WITH THE BOSS/OWNER OF THE HOTEL !!

Room Tip: SYMPLY DON'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL if you don't want to take the risk of having your money stol...

We slept there for three nights and we gave to the reception our wallet with inside 300 dollars asking them to put in the locker, also because the guy of the reception invited to do like that due to the fact that some japanese had been robbed the week before. The behavior of the guy seemed us strange but we thought that it was impossible that they could stole our money from the safe.
The day we left the hotel we took back the wallet and there were 50 dollars less. We tried several time to speak with the boss but it was impossible, he was simply refusing to speak with us! actually when we have met him he said, in uzbek "I'm not the boss"!!!!!! with this behavior he seemed conniving with the theft. We had to get very angry to get back our money because they were teasing us.
Moreover the room was not clean and the breakfast served in a dark room with no windows.
Avoid this place but if you can't always pay attention to your stuff!!!!

Also known as the 'Grand Nordibek'

We stayed in one of the triple rooms and were pleasantly surprised. The room was a good size and the standard of furnishings was reasonable (a small fridge was also provided). We did have a problem with the shower which was resolved the next day . Also, the beds and the bedding were not very comfortable We also noticed some areas where maintenance was needed but as yet this has not caused problems (missing grouting around tiles and a loose pedestal sink and taps) However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is located centrally so is very handy for tourists wishing to wander around the old city. In the evening people wander around the the pond in the centre square nearby and yes, the music is loud but we couldn't hear it from the hotel. We paid $45 a night including an adequate breakfast and enjoyed the ambiance. It offers a decent bed and breakfast for the price.

The place seems to be popular with tourist groups and several groups stayed there while we were there. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are air conditioned but beware that the rooms on the ground open onto an inner cou...

We stayed here for five nights. The staff are very friendly and funny.
The room was basic, had a good split air conditioner.
The toiled permanently stunk of Urine, a smell that nothing could shift. They seem to attract a few french small tour groups so maybe it was just our room?
All the rooms are around a courtyard, the chatter from the staff and guests starts at 0600 and finishes at about 10pm.
The included breakfast served by this family run place was superb.
The hotels location steps away from Lyabi Hauz was good and a pain. A pain as from about 7pm till 10pm theres very loud Uzbek music played in the square. The same songs every night, sounded a bit like a Uzbek Leonard Cohen. I wouldn't recomend any of the hotels in this vicinity for this very reason.
