“great location”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

This boutique hotel is right in Old Town and looks like it belongs there. It was a nice walk to everything. Our room was fine, not luxurious, but big, clean and authentic to this place. We were in room 7. I looked in some other rooms and wasn't impressed, so choose your room carefully. I would strongly suggest they put new blinds on door. That was an eyesore. Breakfast was delicious and the courtyard was pleasant. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Look on their site to see pictures of rooms.

We had a great stay - the positives of this hotel are:

- lovely traditional style bedrooms and a great courtyard
- a large and very cold bar fridge in our room was great for chilling drinks in the heat
- the staff are on the whole most helpful
- the location is fantastic - we walked to all the sights from the hotel and the main square/fountain area is just up the street.

The breakfast is also pretty good, with bread, jam, yoghurt, meat, cheese, and a hot dish that changes each day (we had crepes one morning and an omelette the next).

The downsides were: the bathrooms (although very clean) are quite dated with a shower head on an awkward angle; the WIFI was only available downstairs in the courtyard and not in the rooms, and was fairly slow and unreliable; we weren't allowed to park onsite (but nearby on the street), even though no-one else was staying at the hotel at the time.

We stayed three nights at Minzifa and truly loved it! Nice spacious room and bathroom, excellent freshly prepared breakfast and a wonderful breezy courtyard to hang out, very friendly and helpful staff, really the only thing here to complain about was a wifi signal that was not very strong, but still worked reasonably enough. By far the best place we stayed at in UZ! Keep it up guys!!

Not far from the city’s main square, and approached through a network of narrow streets, the Minzifa Hotel is a little gem. The 12 rooms are grouped around two courtyards in this traditional early 20th century family home. Friendly and attentive staff are helpful in every respect, and are the source of good advice. Breakfasts are very good. The hotel is bed and breakfast only, but the associated Minzifa restaurant is only some ten minutes walk away.

I have travelled a lot and stayed in many places - this hotel as well the city is on top of my list! If you have been to Marrakech and stayed in some of their lovely riad's - this is what you find here as well. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and relax. The rooms are absolutely beautiful - individually decorated. The service - exceptional. Breakfast is individually cooked and it was tasty. If you want to enjoy a great meal with a view of the old town their is a restaurant with the same name some 250 meters from the hotel. Everybody in the hotel is so friendly that I felt like being at home. They also recommended a walkig tour with a guide - and I am very happy I took it. There is so much to do and see that even with the most careful preparation you would miss a lot walking on your own. I would want to express my tru gratitude to the people in Minzifa - I would love to stay there again

I didn't know what to expect entering through a beautifully ornate wooden door set in the wall off a dusty broken down alley in the old city. The opens into a charming courtyard with the old house built around the courtyard. The rooms were big and comfy breakfast was great and the staff very friendly and helpful

The outside of this small boutique hotel was unprepossessing in an unmade alley but the door from the street opened onto a small but attractive courtyard. Considerable thought had been put into the design of the bedrooms in the old style, which were also large and comfortably fitted. Ours had a lovely collection of teapots in the niches along one of the walls. The ensuite bathroom was well-fitted but could have done benefited from better towels. The breakfasts were excellent with a different hot dish every day, always described by the manager as "very tasty". The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was well-situated in the old Jewish Quarter close to the centre of old Bukhara with most places of interest well within walking distance, including a 17th C synagogue. A good choice for a visitor to Bukhara.

Room Tip: First floor bedrooms off the courtyards are lighter and not overlooked.
