The Poi Kalyan Mosque is located at the far end of the courtyard within the Mir-I-Arab Medrasah. The mosque is a picture of perfection, not overly large, but the architecture and craftsmanship to produce this is incredible. Well worth a visit inside the madrasah to check out this hidden beauty.

Although Uzbekistan is steeped in history and it is not easy to remember all but this mosque is a must see for its size and architecture. The rows parallel and diagonal give a fabulous view. The minaret used to hand people is grand too.

We visited so many mosques and madrassas during hour short trip to Uzbekistan, they just melt into one in my memory... But upon entering the inner yard of Poi Kalyan Mosque I stopped amazed. I got the same feeling as when entering Piazza San Marco - suddenly from busy streets walking into a place of such a great beauty. Very tranquil also, very few people. Amazing, I wished I could stay there longer.

This is no longer a functioning mosque other than on holidays, so come and enjoy its splendor. It stands opposite the Mir-Arab madrassah, so you can't miss it.
