I went on Seasun Cruises for 2 days and one night with my partner this year. I have mixed feelings ...
nice tour guide - friendly, humorous and engaging
Itinerary was good with a solid amount of time in each place of interest.
Lovely rooftop deck with chairs - favourite part of the whole tour was sitting on these deck chairs at night chatting
rooms were run down with broken doors and cracks in glass (we had even paid for the more expensive room).
NO INTERNET - they say free wifi on board but when we connected it didn't work. I managed to send and receive one message over the 48 hours. They should not advertise something they do not have.
food - with the exception of lunch the food was horrible. breakfast was stale bread and cold noodles. pretty much inedible.
No hot water and leaky toilet.
Pay the extra and go on a nicer boat
Had a great time on the Seasun Cruise. Caves, kayaks, and monkeys in one of the most beautiful places on the world. Special thanks to our guide "Mr. Handsome" for a great trip.
Very poor quality food (only lunch the second day was good), boat is very very old (nothing like the pictures), cleaning standards in kitchen very poor, rooms are clean, bathroom is spacious but there's no door between bathroom and bedroom!!!!
Also kayaking and swimming do not last as long as advertised in the schedule. In the schedule it was being advertised that these two activities would last 2 hours (4pm - 6pm), but we did kayaking for 30 min and swimming for 45 min.
Pluses: clean rooms, cooking class
Minuses: boat really old (didn't look at all like the pictures), food plenty but of poor quality, activities' duration very short, guidance inside the Surprising Cave non-existent, cleaning standards in kitchen very low (they were just rinsing the dishes with soapy water for cleaning).
I only give a two star (and not one) because the rooms were nice (and looked like the pics I was shown in the agency). I felt like I got also ripped off. I was charged $125 from the tour agency, while other people in the boat got the same tour for like $95 (2 nights/1 day). I would not take this tour had I known that everything would be so far off from what was advertised...
We had amazing trip with seasun, so great time. We're afraid about the halong bay trip because before to arrive to Vietnam we read very bad experience about people that was doing this trip. But this company is good, we did the cruise 2 days one night, the bout was great, the staff was very kind, funny, friendly and helpful. And always trying that you feel good every moment. Our tour guy was always explaining everything, smiling, you could ask everything to him about halong bay and also about vietnam. Delicious food during the cruiser, a lot of food in every meal.
Totally recommend the experience with them!
Had a wonder experience with Seasun cruise last week. It was really eyeopener trip. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. However, most of us on board kind of expected more from the cruise based on how much we were paying. Only found out that our rooms were the only rooms that was not given towels at the end of the trip and there wasn't WIFI.
Enjoyed the cruise; decent value for money. Shopped around and booked for $95pp through hotel. Mr Handsome was hilarious as advertised and despite changing weather conditions, he kept the tour going with energy. We did the 2 day one night tour but wish we had time for the 3 day instead. On the way back, Tan helped us coordinate a special detour to Ninh Binh, going over and above to ensure our experience was positive. Much respect and thanks to our tour guides for their positive spirit.
From pick up to drop off our guide Tu was brilliant, yes it's 4 hours there and back on the coach from Hanoi but you see so much on the drive. The food on the boat was excellent and so much of it - we did the 2 night cruise with one night on the boat and the other at a hotel on Cat Ba island - what a fantastic trip - thank you Tu and all your team a great job!!!
