“Massive crowds for a nice but not amazing sunrise”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Came here from Ubud to do the sunrise trekking tour and were accompanied by about 200 other people. The guides provide flashlights as you have to start climbing up really early. The way up is hardly a way, just a small rough path up the mountain: Get solid shoes for this, we witnessed several people straining their ankles and having trouble with the path. Once you reach the top (with the rest of the crowd) you have to fight for a good place have a good view. If you get one the view is great! Way back down that path was a pain in the bum, and you can barely shift your focus towards the surroundings without falling down. Overall a decent sunrise/view but way to busy and overhyped, there are places without that much hassle and more amazing views in Indonesia!

“Get your hiking boots on!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

Did the sunrise trek and it was a very good experience! glad I did it!!
Very early wake up call, trekking trip included water, breakfast box and tea and pancakes to start with.
Start the trek off In pitch black so you are given tourches to use.
Would not recommend elderly people, young children or unfit people.
Hiking up is a little bit tough but ok, going down on some parts can get a bit tricky, it almost feels as if u have to surf down on the sand at some parts.
Very good experience and definitely recommend.
Bring you hiking boots and a jacket for when u reach the too because it is COLD!!

“Beautiful View”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Enjoyed the beautiful view and cool weather at Mt. Batur. Had lunch at the restaurant overlooking the volcano. Nominal entrance fee (equivalent to about a $ or a couple of $'s...unfortunately, can't remember the exact amount).

“Awesome! Try it!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014 via mobile

You won't have a single regret waking early at wee hours to climb up in the dark w torch lights. (Not that tough, amateur level?) the moment when i saw the first glimpse of the sunrise, it'll pay off ;)

“Awe inspiring”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 via mobile

It was a long drive from on legian and once you start approaching it,you start gaining altitude and the weather becomes chilly. There are awesome orange orchards on both sides of the road. But the view of the mountain along with the lake and the clouds is just breathtaking.Worth the long ride.Must do in Bali.
