My husband and I stayed at Horas Family Home from 29 May – 1 Jun and we are glad that we trusted the many great reviews the hotel had received and chose to stay there. It is indeed a wonderful hotel run by a very able and friendly owner, Mr Berend, and his friendly team. I was in communication with Mr Berend even before my trip began and he gave me very good advice on the places to stop and sightsee on the way from the airport to Berastagi and Lake Toba. At my request, he arranged for us 2 very skillful and trustworthy drivers for our transportation on the mainland and Samosir Island respectively. He also sent his staff to the Parapat harbor to help us carry our luggage on to the ferry to Tuk Tuk to make sure we arrive at the hotel safely and comfortably. He was also in constant communication with our driver after we checked out from the hotel to make sure we were on time for our flight home. The villa we stayed in is well maintained, clean and tidy and it has a fully equipped kitchen in case you want to cook. But, don’t bother because Mr Berend’s has a very good chef who can cook delicious meals for you. The hotel has an unblocked view of the lake and you can enjoy the sight and sound of nature. We will certainly return to Horas Family Home in future and will strongly recommend it to our friends.
