“Bit pricey for Samosir Island, but what a beautiful villa and grounds!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2013

I basically got off the ferry in Tuk Tuk, walked around the corner, into a local boy, and we turned left and were at Toba Village Inn. We were greeted by a smiling female hotel worker who showed me a room. I was so excited because the room she showed me was spacious and sparkling clean, had a western toilet that flushed, a bathtub, a big super comfy bed, a wardrobe and desk, ample sockets, and patio furniture, AND was almost right on the water. Out in the front lawn and into part of the lake, there were 3 gazebos, and a smaller gazebo a bit futher out in the lake. the view was just a sight to behold. At 250,000 rupiah (about $26), it was a bit pricey, but i was too tired to walk around any more, so that's where i stayed for 2 wonderful days. the inn's wifi was mediocre, but it was mediocre all over samosir island. the food was ok. the service was excellent. i would definitely recommend this inn.

I love this place. I was staying with group of my choir in last June 2013.

My reviews are:

More:
1. Clean and neat room
2. Nice bathroom & showers
3. Superb view surrounding
4. Lovely hut in the middle of Toba Lake
5. Beautiful swimming pool
6. Beautiful gardening

Less:
1. Be aware of mosquitoes
2. Breakfast is too standard.. they only served fried noodles / fried rice..
3. You can't make any noisy sound after 10.00 pm
4. They don't have television program

But it was pleasure staying here. great deals and great values.. :)
If I'm back to Samosir, I'll stay here again. :D

Room Tip: Don't pick room no. 1 and no. 2, seems that room was an old room. need to be renovated.

Had a nice time in this hotel. The first day we came, the island experienced power trip so everything was dark. Despite that, the staff tried hard to make do with candles, and the restaurant still served tasty dinner. The team of staff is really nice. They even helped us with bringing your luggage to the room, and whatever small things we asked for.

The view is unparalleled. You open your window and you see Lake Toba directly. The "room" (more like a villa) has a balcony that faces the lake directly as well. Unfortunately their lake pavilion is not reachable anymore since the water level increased. Consequently, the boats from Parapat don't want to dock there anymore. You'll have to alight at Bagus Bay and walk to the hotel.

Overall, we were really happy saying in Toba Village Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for the lake view if possible (although most of them have lake views in some way) There's n...

Very nice place, peaceful and friendly staff. The owners are very kind and helpful. The view to the lake is gorgeous! Rooms are clean and ok but there is a lot of insects around especially ants in the room. I recommend you to take your insect repellant spray and it could be nice to have some plugs repellant in rooms and incense in the restaurant area.
Good restaurant and lovely pancakes with fresh fruits!
Make sure you have cash, you can't pay by card and the nearest (and only) ATM doesn't accept visa...

To get there it take some time , because you have to fly to Medan , from there you can take a bus or a taxi per 7 people in one car . Than you have the nice boat trip over the lake . Guy and his wife Rotua are always arround to help you out . The view is super !
The food is very ok .

Room Tip: Ask lake view if still available
