We arrived at Iran Hotel completely by accident after driving into Iran and not finding any signs for a hotel the entire 400k from the Turkish border. After stopping to ask a policeman at 2am, he gave us an escort, with flashing lights, to the smarter upmarket hotel next door to Iran Hotel. This was full, but thankfully Iran Hotel took us in.
We were absolutely shattered and hadn't eaten anything all day, so the chap at the front desk offered to make us some eggs, flatbread and tea which we took to our room and quickly devoured!
I'm not sure what the other reviewer for this hotel was going on about when he said he had to sleep on a mattress on the floor, but we had a simple bed that was comfortable enough. We did have to share the shower and toilet though, but it was no bother.
Our meal that night we also had to pay extra for, but being so grateful for having something made for us as soon as we arrived we didn't mind.
Very much recommended if you're on a budget.
