We stayed at Baresheet Hotel for a weekend during our holiday in Israel.
Pros:
1. Lovely room.
2. Good food
3. Breathtaking view of the crater.
4. Nice pool

Cons:
1. Set up doesn't feel like it merges well with the location (it is a vast new construction, imposing over the crater - something you don't quite get from the pictures on the website).
2. The staff at reception wasn't the most helpful. We felt that the woman who checked us in was pushing to sell us an upgrade, insisting that it was much nicer than our Superior room, making us feel awkward to be paying a lot of money for a room which wasn't that nice after all... Luckily, we didn't go for the upgrade and our original room was just lovely.
3. Check in on Saturday is at 5pm, which sadly means you get to enjoy the privacy of your room and personal pool for a few hours only, especially if you check out on Sunday (check out is at midday).

Overall, we enjoyed our break in the Desert and glad we had the experience.

A desert view looking at the canyon, quite every where, good food and a private swimming pool. There is a diary restaurant with healthy and delicious food, a spa with a nice resting room and a swimming pool with music under water.
All these make the place magical that you don't want to leave.... ever!!!

Room Tip: canyon view

In the middle of the desert on the very edge of a "makhtesh" (something greater than a crater) can be found the Beeresheet Hotel - a spa hotel of the very highest standards imaginable. On arrival a golf cart takes you and your luggage to the small villas (4 flats per villa) where you enter the most luxurious double room you can imagine, including a deck which overlooks - in our case a large expanse of the makhtesh. After a massage in a well-equipped and fully staffed spa, dinner in the beautiful dining room. Choice of main courses with salad bar for 1st course. Wines are plentiful - just ask; gorgeous desserts, and absolutely nothing to complain about.

Next day - jeep ride into the makhteshim with most experienced drivers/guides, stopping in stragetic places to explain how, where, when everthing was formed, created. After about 2 hours arrival at a huge tree with flat top, tables covered with cloths and chairs set up, and a bar-b-cue meal served - plenty of salads, several kinds of meat on the grill, wine, water, dessert, tea. Followed by jeep ride back to the hotel. An experience not to be missed when visiting Israel. Mitzpe Ramon is about 2 hr. drive south of Tel Aviv. There is also a museum built according to the latest standards devoted to the formation of the makhtesh many millions of years ago, and also to the life-time of the father and son Ramon. The father was the 1st Israeli astronaut who perished when a NASA capsule was on its way back to earth; the pilot son lost his life in a tragic fighter plane accident a few years later.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view of the crater, but a room on the 2nd floor gives a better view.

We spent two nights at Beresheet, in a room with a porch overlooking Ramon Crater. Rooms are spacious, well lit and nicely decorated. Golf buggies are at your service at all times, but going anywhere outside your room (i.e. dining, lobby, pool, gym, spa) mean going outdoors, which can be cold and windy. Food was very good, but too bad the amazing dessert buffet at dinner is parve and therefore better looking than tasting. SERVICE IS AMAZING in all departments.
We think the hotel is best for desert lovers, for a truly quiet rest or if you intend to travel in the area. I would also say that if you are looking for a spa type hotel, the Carmel Forest Spa Resort, offers much more sports and cultural activities than Beresheet.

Room Tip: Downstairs rooms have private little pools - but they are not fenced or hidden, and bathers can be seen by passers by, or from top floor porches and main building windows.
