“Clean, Secure camp with good people running it”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Stayed overnight at the camp in Aug with wife and it was great. Right from the time i emailed for booking to the last departure, it was flawless. The representative met us at the main gate and directed to the Rum village.

Camp: behind big mountain with good facilities, separate are for dinner and mingling with people. Camp was kind enough to allow us to take our beds out and sleep under the stars.

Food: Nice grilled food - chicken was amazing - with lots of free water and tea.

Overall It was a very good experience and i would recommend it.

I can only recommend this camp to anyone planning to stay in Wadi Rum for a few days. As described before by other guests, the team of the camp is great and really dedicated. By their food, their music and their guided tours they create an experience which is impossible to forget, and manage to do so while staying absolutely relaxed and friendly. Their hospitality is not superficial or faked at all. You do indeed feel like a guest, rather than just a visitor.

So helpful - all staff - experience was fantastic - the desert drive was incrededible and the driver/ guide had excellent knowledge and English. Sunset drive well worth doing - music and dancing by the camp fire after dinner memorable.Tent comfortable (real beds -clean linen, showers- toilets all normal - but bring your own towels) In a beautiful setting under the mountains - food really good - lentil soup to die for! Food cooked in the ground by buried wood embers - chicken / potatoes exceptional. Value for money is very high for the service and cost - and the arrival at the camp of a herd of 'wild 'free roaming camels including babies was a real bonus!! Take this trip if you are going to Wadi Rum and help the community alos in the Rum village. Thank you Attalah and team.

Everything is nicely done at the Bedouin Lifestyle Camp. The guide was extremely nice and took us to nice places by jeep. The dinner and breakfast were very satisfying - vegetarians were also taken into account. Music played by talented guys after the sunset created an otherwordly atmosphere. Cabins have clean beds (you can also sleep outside) and the bathrooms are Western-style, perfectly clean and convenient. Me and my friend were very positively surprised.

Given the vast number of outstanding reviews of beduoin lifestyle camp on tripadvisor I was surprised to have an average to verging on mediocre experience. We began by being dropped to what I can assume was Attallah's house in the village as he did not introduce himself or ask for our names. We had decided to book a jeep tour with a short camel ride and Attallah proceeded to attemt to up-sell us a full day tour. We had to politely decline a number of times (as he described the different options a number of times and showed us the website) until he finally accepted this. We were then taken by our guide on our jeep tour. The guide did not interact with us, did not indicate that we were at a site or that we should follow him but merely stopped at each place and walked away (presumably we were to follow). He provided very minimal information about each location. We were also hurried away from the sand dunes and told that we did not have time to climb them.

When we arrived at the camp we were earlier than other guests and were greeted by an incredibly hot tent! We had to lie outside our tent in the little shade we had for approx 3 hours. Despite members of staff passing us no one asked if we were ok, would we like water/tea or if we would like to go to the dinning tent on the hill which we were later directed to by Attallah when he arrived in the camp.

The tents were good accomodation but our electricity did not work. The evening meal was a nice experience with singing and dance, although it would have been nice to hear more about beduoin culture/food etc from the staff. The lunch and breakfast were adequate. In general, I felt Attallah was not particuarly attentive to the guests and his other staff did not make up for this. We had to leave quite early the next day (8am) which was fine. We were dropped back to Attallah's house in the village where he proceeded to direct us to the tripadvisor site for beduoin lifestyle camp on his laptop. He encouraged us to write a favourable review and frankly I felt uncomfortable with this approach particuarly as he had a room full of guests waiting for their trip to the desert.

I think this camp properly began as a small operation which was attentive to its guests but as they try to expand standards have slipped. They appear more interested in just getting people to write a good tripadvisor review and as a result get more custom than actually providing a unique desert experience. Wadi Rum is beautiful and bedouin lifestyle camp is fine for an average (not excellent) stay.

Excellent tour during the day. We were first warmly welcomed at Attallah's house. We started the day with the camel tour (a must-do), and then continued by jeep. Our guide was really nice and tried to be as knowledgeable as possible by giving several explanations but not always understandable as he was not perfectly fluent in English. For lunch, the guide cooked for us in the desert. Dinner and breakfast were also tasty. The only disappointment was the sand-boarding because it goes really slowly and the equipment was not appropriate. The camp is nicely located in the desert. We weren't disturbed by any light to observe the beautiful night sky with its thousand of stars.

Our stay in the Bedouin Lifestyle Camp was the highlight of our trip to Jordan. We checked several other web sites before booking our dessert trip and we are happy that we choose Bedouin Lifestyle Camp. The communication with Attallah couldn’t be easier, he answered all our e-mails right away, helping to arrange taxis from our Petra hotel to the camp and from the camp to Aqaba at a fair price. The facilities of the camp are excellent. We booked a half day tour and really enjoyed the time with our wonderful guide Fais. The dinner was delicious, the breakfast too. We would never forget the time with the Bedouins around the fire, their heart touching music, the stories shared by Fais, the million stars and the quietness and majesty of the dessert.
Thank you Attallah, Fais, Alexis and the entire team!!!
