A friend and I stayed in the Rainbow Camp for only one day during our visit in Jordan- it was recommended by our travel agent and when we got there, we were met with an amicable host who showed us around the desert in his car. First he took us to the Lawrence's spring, consequently to a sand dune where we were encouraged to climb and lastly a beautiful and secluded siq. There are 10 tents in this particularly camp- all very nicely decorated and adequately equipped with candle lights, several blankets and stands for luggages. From the campsite, one can also admire the astonishing sunset and sunrise (if you get up early enough!). Not only were we treated with utmost hospitality, but the food there was also of outstanding standard. We were the only ones staying in the camp that night but still there was plenty of traditional food enough to last for days. Their homemade grilled barbecue chicken marinated with their secret sauce was unforgettable. I highly recommend Rainbow camp to anyone visiting Wadi Rum- the hosts were so friendly they even shared their wifi hot spot on their phone so we could keep up with the World Cup game! Wadi Rum itself is breathtaking and staying in such a lovely place gave me a wonderful memory and impression of Jordan.
