We spent two nights at Les Dunes mid way through a Madagascar trip. After the entertaining journey by road from Tulear we were pleased to arrive at this comfortable and relaxing hotel. The bungalows were well appointed and nicely spaced out. The owner clearly invests a lot of time and effort to take care of the small details that make a difference. During the day you can enjoy the lovely pool and ocean views before having sundowners at the beachside bar. Later in the evening, after a drink or two in the main bar, dinner is enjoyed in the open and airy restaurant. The food was good on the two nights of our stay. If you do stay at Les Dunes I recommend a visit to the nearby Reniala reserve where you can enjoy an informative an d enjoyable tour of the endemic spiny forest plants and trees. Go early before it's too hot.
