Description: In Malaysia's rich food culture, many love eating buns and rich curry. But while it is common to take buns with chicken curry, not many have tried baking the curry inside the bun. Now with Chicken Curry Bun, food lovers can savour a unique taste sensation like no other! Fall in love with a one-of-a-kind culinary creation - the original Curry Chicken Bun.The-Prestigious-Product-Quality-Award Sometimes also referred to as Port Dickson Curry Chicken Bun or Lukut Curry Chicken Bun or Seremban Curry Chicken Bun, it is a unique dish consisting of chicken curry with potatoes and thick gravy wrapped inside a gigantic bun. Best of all, it is not too spicy so that diners of all ages and tastes can savour it. Tuck into this must-try delicacy today! HISTORY The story of Lucky King Bun began in the quiet town of Lukut, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan over three decades ago, when the husband-and-wife team of Mr. Chaw and Madam Lew brainstormed over new creating new food dishes. Being avid fans of cooking and baking with over 30 years' experience in the culinary industry, the pair decided to merge their expertise with a dish that required both skills. After much hard work and experimentation, the fruit of their labour was extraordinary - a sumptuous combination of chicken curry with potatoes and thick gravy wrapped inside a gigantic bun. Termed the Curry Chicken Bun, this wildly popular dish became an instant classic made famous through word of mouth. Today, the dish has become a massive homegrown success story with buns being churned out by the hundreds daily. However, it is still made with the same meticulous passion and quality as day one, with Madam Lew herself keeping a close eye on the entire process from preparation of ingredients to baking and cooking. The result - a mouth-watering delicacy that customers travel from near and far daily to savour! THE PROCESS Enjoying Curry in a Loaf is a simple and convenient affair, but a tedious amount of preparation goes into it as each bun is made fresh daily. Spanning about 6 to 8 hours in total, the process begins with cooking the curries as early as 6am. Over 20 different ingredients and spices are used to extract the rich distinctive flavour that customers love. Next, the curries are carefully transferred into bowls where they are first wrapped in grease proof paper before another additional wrapping of aluminium foil. The outer layer is light spread with butter to ensure that the bun will not stick to the foil after baking. Once this is complete, the freshly made dough is kneaded and cut by hand into evenly sized pieces to form loaves covering the individual aluminium foil packets. After being left to rise for several rounds, the buns are ready to be baked. Upon completion, the final touch is applied with egg yolk glazing to attain the buns' signature shiny golden brown finish.

“A must try if you're in Port Dickson”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

Nope,it's not JUST a bun and curry for you to dip and eat. First of all,the bun itself tastes really good and you will definitely be served freshly baked ones for they do not bake too many of them at a time. And you have a choice of chicken curry, pork, chicken and pork to dip your bun in.

Nope, they don't serve the curry in a separate bowl whatsoever. The curry is in the bun. Yes,in the bun. Will say no more bout that one ;) Just go and try! It's worth the drive (it's in Lukut,15 to 20mins drive from where most resorts are located)

Oh. Don't even think of ordering a whole bun for yourself. Unless you've not eaten for 2 days! ;)

Worth trying.

“Good variety at a higher cost”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

We got some of their famous rolls and delicious, freshly baked meat buns to go with our planned "cendol" treat. The place was packed with people and kids running around, but we couldn't help ourselves- the aroma of freshly baked pastries and cakes drew us all into the little shop filled with bakery goodies. I was surprised when I saw the prices though... just a trifle bit too overpriced, but then like everyone, I blame it on the Singaporeans who go around saying "ohhh so cheap!" here and there. " )

“Really tasty bun...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

This place is located at Lukut, Port Dickson and it is very easy to find. Well, heard from most of the food blogger highly recommending this curry bun... well, it's a must to try when have a day trip to Port Dickson.
According to them, they have 3 flavours but maybe it is selling like hot cakes.. when we arrived, only one flavour available... well still the famous chicken curry bun.
I don't expect the size of the bun would be that big.. and it was served in a flowerly shape manner.. nice presentation.
For the taste, the curry cravy was nice... so does the chicken and potato.
Well, we ordered other dishes as well since it was lunch time but, the main food that we aiming was this chicken curry bun.
No regret, it's a must try food in Lukut, Port Dickson. Happy eating.

“Tasty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

The curry is thick and rich in flavor. Dipping the bread into the curry is just haven. Chicken tasted just nice, not too tender. But the potato is a bit over cooked but overall still good

“It's really good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

We bought a bun to try after seeing the number of people who rave about it on trip advisor.

Initially, I thought it looked really like the "golden pillow" that is sold in Singapore.
But the moment you take a bite, you will know why so many people say it's nice (or maybe I'm really hungry).

The bun itself taste good and the curry was a little spicy but really creamy and delicious!
It's definitely worth to buy and try.
