“Cool Waterfalls”
Review of Jeriau Waterfall

Was there with family last year. The walk in takes some 1/2 hour but do enjoy the greenery and extra cool mountain fresh air. Place is not so crowded, there are steps leading down to the waterfall area, so do take extra care coz its quite steep - water is not so deep but for those who just want to splash around it can be quite fun, great for picnicking and enjoying nature & photography, you'll feel hungry in no time due to the extra cool weather, Better bring your own food and drinks, only a small stall there selling snacks.

The walk to the waterfall is pleasant with a stream running along the trail.

At the entrance you are greeted with two big signboards of all the penalties if you break the law, including disposal of rubbish. Therefore it was great disappointment to see that the staff is using the area behind the last (broken) toilet/shower chalet as a rubbish site with a large No. of black garbage bags deposited there. Lots like the bags have been there for a year or more, but of course in 500 years all the plastic may have disintegrated?

All the toilets and facilities at the waterfall appears abandoned and broken down.

Jeriau, like many 'waterfalls' in Malaysia is a small cascade which is not particularly outstanding - but the walk is pleasant and fairly easy so worth a look if you have time. The clear mountain stream leading to the waterfall is much more interesting & you can find some good photo opportunities along the way.

The trail there can be exhausting for old folks or kids so, travel light. Best to eat up first before embarking on this nature trek with cement trails & steps all the way to a single waterfall with a nature pool. A picnic there is perfect but, pack-up light meals like sandwiches, breads @ burgers. The water was tempting but, can be too cold for some as this is located among the cool rainforest on highland. Beware of hypothermia so, bring along yr most warm jacket, shawls & blankets if you dare enough to swim in the cold pool that is very shallow & safe for kids.
