This is a nice inn with a wonderful view. What I appreciate most is the service & the staff. This is my story...

After my 2 days/1 night stay at the inn, I unintentionally left my laundry bag (full of dirty cloths) in the hotel room. I only realised after we reached home. I called the hotel and asked them to keep it and I will collect it when we go to the fraser hill again. 2 weeks later, we went again to fraser hill and I went to Shahzan reception counter to collect the dirty laundry. I informed the counter and the receptionist immediately presented me my laundry bag. And inside the bag...full of clean and nice smelling, washed cloths. The hotel do the laundry for me for free.

Thank you Shahzan Inn Fraser Hill. You thought me what 'hospitality' means. I'm impressed!!!

Room Tip: Always request a golf view

pros: loved the place. in the city centre. beautiful views of the mountains. very prominent property. can be seen from many places around the hill.beds were clean, tv had fantastic reception. had tea and coffee facilities.
quite a good breakfast. had to pay 10 ringgit extra for our 7 year old.we were vegetarians and the chef helped us make a vegetarian fried rice to the best of his abilities.
reception is helpful.gave us a map for the hill.
would definitely come again.

cons: bathroom shower was a trickle. no pressure at all. but it was hot. we managed a nice warm shower anyway.
the bidet next to the WC was leaking. made the whole bathroom floor wet all the time.
the lift was smelling musty. maybe the carpet was wet.

Room Tip: choose a front view room, garden or golf view.

We went bird watching for 3 days at Fraser's Hill, an old British hill station in central Malaysia and a cool relief from the hot and humid lowlands.
Hotel was basic but great location, free parking, and view of town.
Breakfast was poor: taste, quality and very limited.
We ate the other meals at the food court up the hill; good delicious tastes but limited choices.
Our room was the last one on the top (4th) floor, kind of a long walk from the entry.
Adequate and sleep-able but we went for the (great) birds, not the hotel.
Great local bird guide: Mr. Durai.
Have fun.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the golf course (has a view).

We (wife and self) visited Frasers Hill, an excellent location for Malaysian Birding. We stayed at this hotel which is very conviniently located in Frasers Hil in late Februaryl. We stayed for two nights. We checked into a golf facing room. The room was modest but clean and quite spacious with a balcony. The view of the golf club and surrounding was amazing.
The service was Ok but the high point was the GM who interacts well with the guests. He gave us good advise on birding and recommended an excellent guide Mr. Durai.
The breakfast was average but palatable.

Room Tip: A golf facing room at the higher floor is a must to enjoy the beautiful mornings and the lush greene...

Stayed at their higher floor. Had a view of golf course. Woken up by birds chirping. Nice. Rooms were too close for comfort. Beside room occupants can just climb over the balcony. Only small partition of wall separates the balcony. Can hear clearly despite TV on, "intimate activities" was going on beside room. Very thin wall separates rooms . room service was Ok but food not desirable. Breakfast was awful. Left us bloated. Was uncomfortable stay for us. We left as soon sun rise. Mayb it suits for bird watchers not yuppies from kuala lumpur

Although the facade looks a bit shabby, the downstairs restaurant, lobby & reception is quite nice and has been maintained quite well. The hallways, lifts & rooms are due for a facelift though - who's idea was it to use carpet in the damp Malaysian highlands?! - Probably some Englishman!

In any case, the rooms aren't bad - if you ignore the out-of-date carpet, they are fairly well maintained & we had no dampness or musty smell (which is a big problem for many hotels in Fraser's Hill). The large room size is a plus, & the bathrooms were very good. Beds comfortable. The only rooms available when we visited were about $60 a night - a bit overpriced, but relative to other places in Fraser's Hill it's reasonable.

Service was good & food ok.

I came here for birding, but my wife loved the place too! We both enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. There were always big smiles in the restaurant from the staff. The room was very big and the beds comfortable. The toilet seat cover in Room 318 needs adjusting as it won't stay up, but otherwise, no complaints. In fact, we'd go back to this hotel, as the location is good and the alternatives for breakfast were not very enticing.

Room Tip: Bird-watchers might prefer the Garden View to the Golf View rooms.
