This hotel really excels as an economical venue for large company/organisation conferences, meetings or conventions. However, it is also a good place to stay if you have a large family or have many holiday companions. Stay here if you are looking for a budget place and are not fussy. Everything here is just about average: moderately clean, moderately delicious food and moderately everything else.

Before booking the apartment, i have not come across much review on it. Hopefully this write up will help fellow travellers.
The Pines covers a big area on Frasers, consisting of a couple of blocks of apartments. Peaceful, quite, fresh air & picturesque..until you step in the apartment. The moment i opened the door, an awful smell greets me. The stench of moulded room fills the air & penetrates my nostril. I can actually feel the dampness of the surrounding, it was terrible that I had to open up the balcony door wide throughout my one night stay.
The furniture was ok, kitchenette has only an electric kettle & refrigerator..no cups / saucers. Bathroom is very basic however the water pressure for the cistern is low that it's not able to flush away "the waste"..
Breakfast was average - toast, nasi lemak, fried noodle, typical asian fare and it starts at 7.30am. Hotel reception opens at 8am.

By chance our stay coincided with their busiest weekend; even so the resort was never too noisy or appear crowded.

Our room (corporate suite) had kitchen with fridge & kettle but no stove, bathroom, 3 bedrooms (one with en-suite), dining area and lounge. It was screaming out for refurbishment. Everything was clean and functional. Breakfast in the on-site restaurant was adequate but not aimed at western tastes. A Chinese evening meal in the restaurant was good though.

As an alternative restaurant for evening meals we would recommend is the Smokehouse, about 15 minutes drive away, serving more traditional western food.

Frasers Hill is a good place to rest when touring Malaysia – it is cooler, less humid and quiet. Not much to do except walk and watch the local wildlife.
