I stayed in a hill view chalet with my gf in July 14.
At first the resort doesn't look like much. With scruffy grounds and a cluttered reception/dinning/seating/storage area I wouldn't call it a resort and I didn't hold much hope for our stay. That was until we met the resort owners.
Run by an Indian family, the mother welcomed us with a broad smile and made us feel immediately welcome. It turned out we were the only people staying (during Ramadan) so were offered a room upgrade to the much newer (and much nicer) hill view chalets. We said yes and although the first room had an issue with ants on the bed and the second with lack of electricity/water (they had shut down the hotel in off season) these issues were quickly corrected and we enjoyed our stay in our room with 2 double beds.
We had two highlights of our stay, first was the AMAZING, home made indian food for breakfast and an evening meal we decided to have at the resort. We were treated to many dished and were told a little but about each of them when they were served.
The second highlight was the wild boar family and large Hornbills we saw from our chalet door. The resort is situated between the beach and an area of hilly wild rainforest,
It was a great place to stay and the hotel staff perfect.
I would also highly recommend spending the say relaxing on Coral Beach and eating at Daddy;s Cafe whilst there - we did and it was one of the best days of our trip so far.
