Made a special trip back to this restaurant because we enjoyed it so much last year .
What a diference a year makes
We asked to see menu, girl shuffled off , without a word, shuffled back without a word, threw menu on table without a word, too busy listening to ipod, menu looked very limited so we shuffled off.to another rstaurant
Asked around and found there has been a change of ownership/ management

The variety of food is acceptable, with the beach in front, eating in this place is never hot. Good environment.

We (two adults and two kids aged 6 and 4) stayed at the Sandy Beach Resort for just over a week. The Sandy Spoon is the on-site, outdoor, covered restaurant overlooking the beach.

Shanti (front of house) and her team instantly made us feel welcome and we felt nothing was too much trouble for them. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay even providing some off-menu selections to satisfy our fussy kids :)

The first few days of our stay coincided the Hari Raya holiday so the day/evening menu was a very cut down version of the full menu, and possibly a little limited for regular visits. However, once the holiday was over and the restaurant reverted back to its full menu the choice was amazing and the quality of food and taste was some of the best Asian food I've ever had. The Chicken Pattaya comes highly recommended.

Breakfast was a great feast too with an ever changing buffet selection, including an egg station - I'm not normally a fan of French toast (of all things) but it was amazing ! So was the coffee, it looks so thick and rich but was the smoothest I have ever tasted and since returning to the UK I've really missed the tasty spicy rice dishes that started my day.

Everything was great value for money too. I can't recommend the Sandy Spoon restaurant enough, and although we found another great place I think this restaurant deserves to be a contender for Best on the Island too.
