This is our second time staying in this resort after more than 10 years ago. We were booked into a club room - a suite on second floor facing the garden and sea. The room is well furnished and clean with good water pressure - we love it having good shower.

Both local and western are available with a good spread. However, tried steak at the ground restaurant - pricey for the quality of meat served. The staff are helpful and friendly.

The landscape is not impressive and not well kept which is a pity as it offers a wide space for guest to enjoy approaching the beach front. Hope management will do something to make it more attractive in order to blend with the golf course.

Stay there for few days recently (25 to 28 Sept-2013), the room is big, fairly clean.
The wifi internet is really "SUCKS" in the room, and they charge you for $25/day to use. I saw lot of peoples have to sit in the lobby area to surf/use their internet as the signal is much better there.
The room service to clean up your room really depend on your luck. I've waited from 08:30 till 11:45 and still not tidy up till I ask them,as my laundry is still not being collected.
Walking out to the Hotel surrounding have only less than 2 eating house,1 KFC, 1 mini-mart.

Spent two weeks at this hotel on a recent business trip to the area. Yes the hotel is a bit old, and needs some face lifting. But staff is very friendly and efficient. Rooms are big, well equipped, very clean, and well serviced. I liked the design of this hotel; the location and the greenery, very nice beach and recreational facilities, beautiful view, whether garden or sea; Good and well assorted breakfast, moderately priced, but average food in the restaurants. You can get a very good deal if booked through the internet. Internet connection at a price (MRG 25/day), but slow and not reliable; TV channel selection needs improvement.
This area of Malaysia, is not so popular with Western Tourists, despite the nice beaches, and surroundings; this negatively reflects on the availability of services in the vicinity of the hotel, like restaurants, taxi services and others.
A very nice place to stay at, just if this area was more developed.

Room Tip: Higher floor sea view rooms, however, garden view rooms have also a very nice scenery

We have stayed 2 nights during 9-10th Aug, 2013 in this resort.
The location is just on the beach, which is very long and good and very very clean with less crowded almost no one if you walk early morning for sunrise. I enjoyed early morning walk, intended to see sunrise but little clouded, can see clearly. But waked on the beach on bare foot, upto the rocky left side of the hotel. good experience.

The room itself is very large and nice. But the view is not good as our room facing the golf ground. But who need it if you go and relax at quite beach side. The swimming pool is very large has separate large area for kids, with some playing options.

Hotel surrounded by some small food restaurants, expensive but nice to try. KFC also available. Food at hotel is very expensive. but good choices. Breakfast is good and having large varieties.

Recommended if you stay in Kijal.

We stayed for 3D2N in a deluxe room. Our room was big but the downside was we got a smoking room. The bathroom was spacious with bathtub, shower & toilet area.

The hotel has a great pool for kids. There's an interesting batik painting activity & playroom is well maintained. The outdoor activity was interesting. My kids have fun with paint ball target practice & driving the ATV.

The breakfast has a variety of food & its marvelous. My wife loves the local food 'nasi dagang' & i love the various types of breads. The dining experience also an A+. My kids loves the 'chicken rice'. The room service was also nice.

Overall we have fun staying here & definitely a choice.
Pro's : Food
Con's : Been given a smoking room

I'm not gonna repeat what have been posted here - outdated room, smelly carpet, average customer service, ya-da, ya-da. The thing is, I don't think this money-making Genting-owned resort cares what you thinks.

I stay here almost every week due to a project involvement. For one, I almost never pay anything below RM300 as they often claim the resort is overbooked. Now, for Malaysia, RM350 or RM400 should get you a decent hotel, preferably with flatscreen LCD TV, non-smelly room, non-flowery bedsheet, heavenly shower, god-sent goose down pillows and carpet that isn't blue in colour, but please don't hold your breath (or maybe you should for a little bit given the smell that is the theme here). This Genting-owned Resort-World-rebranded property can charge whatever they like without a single care on what people opine about their rooms or whether they should, at the very least, change the prehistoric room-key system, I don't know, to the electronic card ones?

Why? I mean, why? You rebranded yourself to a Resort-World something-something, well, that's a start, but what's next? You changed your stationery, and what else? How about phase-by-phase renovation? I highly doubt it. And to rub salt to the wound, they only made an el-cheapo printed banner and tied it to a host of poles at the entrance to say "Resort World Kijal". If it is a temporary measure, I have no qualm, but given how they seem to abhor spending a cent more than required, the printed banner has been there for almost 6 months now, thanks for not asking.

Again, why? It's simple. There is no competition. I often find Impiana Resort in Cherating to be miles better but I have about 100km of driving to project site if I take that route. Then there is Residence Resort Paka which might be a tad better but please don't flatter yourself. Competition in Dungun? Nothing that I could speak of and Dungun is already quite far, like Kemaman, or like Cherating. So really Resort World Kijal is the only choice around the area. If the resort owner is reading this, he or she will smile and will thank me for stating the obvious and will probably comp me to a non-smelly room next time.

In short, they don't give rats about trying to renovate or trying to be in touch with modern amenities as long as they continue to have these O&G workers coming in bulk day in and day out whose expense accounts aren't able to distinguish between a good RM400-per-night hotel to a bad one. If I am the resort owner, I'll probably do the same.

I was in Resorts World for a day on a Business trip. The place is spacious with private beach area, swimming pool, kid's playing area and Golf course. Looks bit isolated and peaceful...a good way to relax
But then you need to think that can a much better Hospitality would had made the trip much more relaxing...Mundane smile from Receptionists, slow room service, no one to organize and set table during breakfast...and few more incidences which made me realize that Hospitality from the Staff does matters to make your stay more comfortable
Room were also very old and TVs same like Big Flat ones...so renovation not being worked since long...WiFI was surprisingly paid and that too best signal at Lobby...
Best part was Swimming pool, beach and though I did not use, but I loved the facility in Children's playing area
I could see more than half of residents Business Travelers like me, and few conferences going on. So, for Business travelers with Kerteh main offices nearby, mainly related to Oil and Gas, it is like best place to stay (Frankly, with Business in mind, you start to neglect these petty things)...

Still if you neglect Hospitality, renovation ...a Very Good place to relax and hang around

Room Tip: Try the pool side view room...also a smoking room in 5th Floor will help in receiving excellent Wi F...
