We rented one of the budget rooms towards the end of February. The prices change depending on the season. While we were there, the prices of the budget rooms were as good as the other places that were open (only 3 other places were open). We had air-con, a fan and our own bathroom. We used the free wifi in the morning because that's when the least amount of people were using the internet. When too many people came to the lobby to get online, the internet would stop working for us. We stayed ten days and the staff were fantastic. They were helpful and friendly.

This may be odd, but my favorite thing was that they offer free water in the dining room at any time of day. This meant we didn't have to buy water bottles and create lots of plastic waste while we were on the island. They let us fill up our water bottle as often as we wanted free of charge.

The resort also has easy access to some really nice private beaches.

Room Tip: You can get some really wonderful rooms, but you have to pay much more for them.

Stayed at the hotel and paid a fraction of the listed price due to off season. There was a special promotion till Mar 1st '2012 that's what the manager Mr. Rodhi told me. It was an average hotel with hotwater if you stayed on standard room and above. I found my room after meandering around the hotel pathway.I notice couple of rooms was equipped with solar panel which was a plus. There are no room service for the duration and our room was not cleaned at all.The room is equipped with tv limited channel but has HBO. The hotel has easy access to it's own bay which is nice. There is also a pathway to Long Beach from the hotel. The hotel has it's on wifi which is near reception area.
The service was slow during pick hours like during dinner- I guess island mentatlity or off season???. Had buffet breakfast.- average. The restuarant layout was nice for my opinion where I like the option of having your meals on the porch overlooking the sea. We took meals at all available restuarant on the beach and I found that the fried rice is quite good in Sharila.
Went diving with Quiver dives and it was great. We went diving with stefan sea sport also. It was cheaper but both dive center are profesional. Quiver is a big 5 IDC center with lots of activity. Would I stay at the hotel again at this beach, probably would due to the closeness of the dive centers and the sundry shop and jetty. I also would like to thank Mr. Rodhi-(manager) who is very helpful especially on the room selection(wanted to stay at a budget room but he suggested the standard since my partner needs hotwater)

Room Tip: Ask the reception to get you close to the restuarant because it's close to the beach and the pri...

Great as a last resort for a place to stay if you've got no where else to go to. Not worth the price.
We had a semi chalet room furthest from the reception where we had to walk passed various chalets and this horrendous smell in the midst of the hotel compound which made me want to vomit.
The bathroom were not clean and there was no hot water. We called housekeeping to get them to clean the filthy sink but the requests were ignored. We told them the next day when we went out for the day, they claimed that they had them in and cleaned it. No, they didn't. Still filthy as ever.
Accommodation itself was ok but dark in deco.
All in all, it's not easy to get really nice decent accommodation in the island.

We stayed here for 4 nights and simply loved the place. We first stayed 2 nighs at Long beach but took a walk trough the jungle to the other side of the island and found this place. We asked to see the room and were surprised to find such a new and clean bungalows for such a decent price. This was low-season so obviously the prices were also a little less than what they would be during peak season.

The rooms are spacious, clean and the a/c is working well. Hot water was available through the stay.We did not eat at this hotel so cannot really say anything about the restaurant.
Service was good.

I would stay here again anytime!

went there for my company trip, was really great - from the jetty office (the staff was really helpful n kind, but id wish to skip this all wif online booking tho). Thr front office in the resort also very accomodating. As i recall the reception at that time call Suria.

Locationwise the resort was perfect, only footsteps away from the jetty. We get ourself the seaview chalet - overseeing the sea and its very picturesque.

The food was amazing with fresh fishes and the barbeque was great. I got one of my staff which is vegetarian and they accomodate that well.

The room was nice and very comfy but the tv's a bit small (but we here not for tv rite?). They got hot shower which is very nice.

We had snorkelling trip and it was an awesome one - we also went to shark point and manage to see turtle too. The only downside is during nightime as theres not much thing to do after bbq dinner. But they reckon us to go to the other side of the island to Long Beach where it is more happening.

Overall its a good resort with good accomodation and good service. The price is a bit more compare to other option i had but it worth the money spent.

We stayed here for 8 nights and were reluctant to leave it was so nice. The staff were great, the room clean and air conditioned. The hot water never ran out and the en suite shower room was fine. We ate at the barbecue many times and loved choosing our fish for grilling and helping ourselves to generous portions of fresh salads. The price was no more than many vastly inferior laces nearby.

Room Tip: Coral bach is nicer than Long Beach.

We stayed at Shari La for three nights only because we arrived at Perhentian Kecil very late (boat arrived just before sunset) and hadn't booked anything, along with twenty other backpackers, so the competition for beds was tight. Our choice at the time was to pay 120rm (down from 240rm) for a standard twin bed room at Shari La with air con, or 50rm for a filthy dirty room with only a fan in another guest house- so we chose Shari La.

Now on first sight, Shari La looks ok and we were lucky enough to get a room that wasn't too poorly maintained - we did have a working air con and working shower so no complaints there (as opposed to what some of the other guest told us) but for the price the furniture and fixtures are dirty and shabby, with holes and stains (that looked like blood) on some of the chairs, doors broken on some of the cabinets and broken door on the bathroom. The rooms are dark and dingy, have a caravan feel to them, very cramped - so for the price its a shocker!! but at the time it was our best option.

An ABSOLUTE MUST NOT DO is to eat at the restaurant!!!! Every afternoon the food - raw chicken and fish together - is laid out on a wooden bench with little ice and then it is swarmed with flies - we saw this for three afternoons straight! and the board that is used to cut up the chicken and fish and vegetables is a filthy grey plastic board that stinks, it sits out on the bench and you can smell it as you walk past, not to mention see flies all over it during the day - yes this board is left out all day on the prep bench!!! One day I walked past and saw two of the staff sitting on the food prep/chicken & fish display bench with their FEET also on the bench - I was appalled, this would be equal to sitting on your kitchen bench/dining table! To make it absolute worse for us, the day after we arrived (and we hadn't at this staged viewed this) we ate lunch at Shari La and whilst eating a foul smell kept wafting - at first I thought it was sewage from the island drains, then we realised it was the chicken my husband had on his plate, when we smelt it closer we both almost vomited, it was so off and vile, upon telling the waiter and asking him to smell the chicken, he both refused and shrugged his shoulders in a don't care fashion - we still had to pay for the meal!!!! so what ever you do - DO NOT EAT AT SHARI LA !!!!

This is a very run down, over priced and over sized resort with bad hygiene practices and dirty, shabby, dark rooms. For the price, the whole place needs a make-over.
