I went to Redang with my International students on April 2013. The accommodation is great. Nice aircondition room with double bed, triple pack or four pack or family pack to choose from. The package includes 2 way boat transfer from Shahbandar Jetty (Kuala Terengganu) to Redang Island, 3 snorkeling trip (if you're lucky enough, they will bring you for extra snorkeling trip behind the resort to see eye to eye with big sharks). Lucky here means beautiful enough. Haha. Because the diver staff is male. Be sure to take care of yourself when you go snorkeling with them. Make sure you have others with you.

For foods, is average. Whom ever likes Chinese food or cooking place, this is where you should stay. They serve fully chinese style. Free flow of water but you cannot bring bottle and pack them to bring to your room. Food serve are all Halal. On 2nd night we're there, they serve BBQ chicken and duck.

Cleanliness of the room depends on you yourself. There's no room service to clean the room or what so ever. You need to tidy up the room yourself. ;) Bring some shampoo and soap if you need it. They only provide liquid thingy that serve as shampoo and soap. If you do not want you hair gets toooo rough until the only solution to get it right is going bald, bring the shampoo. >_<

Snorkeling trip are nice. For the muslim lady, if you wear hijab, do not wear the hooded one. Wear soft awning and small size. If you wear the hard awning type, the mask won't fit your face properly and the water will suffocate you. T_T You'll regret that you did not take my advise. If you wear big size hijab, make sure you tuck it in your shirt or swimwear. Later on if you release yourself from the life jacket, you can take it out as to cover entirely your aurah. :)

For the snorkeling, it is better if you have your own mouth piece/ snorkeling gear + snorkeling shoes. There are rough and pointed dead coral in Redang and Marine Park. However, snorkeling gear(snorkeling mask + life jacket) can be rent there.

Overall, it is nice to have stayed in Redang Reef. FYI, this is my 2nd trip to Redang and for both of it, I've chosen Redang Reef Resort.

i am staying in sea view room. the room able to allocate 5 people. the view is superb. the room is clean and nice. but my friends is staying at standard room and the room is very basic. i bought 3D2N package with this resort. the schedule is abit tight. may not have enough time for you to rest. the food is mainly chinese food and it taste well. the only thing that i not really satisfy is the snorkelling mark that provided by the resort. the quality of the mask is really bad. the water keep on entering the mask while snorkelling. same things happen on my friends as well. for those who do not know snorkel, the beach boy will assist you by using lifebuoy.take note that there is no mobile jetty in long beach. for every time we out for snorkelling activity, you need to go deep to the sea then get up to the boat (quite scary for the first time). there is alots of small fishes in front of this resort. recommended for those who bring along small kids. behind the resort have another beach as well. the beach behind the resort is very slippery because lots of rocks over there. not really safe to swim over there unless there is a beach boy bring u there. this resort is at the end of the long beach. the good part is seldom people will pass by this resort. the "blue sand" is located at the beach infront of the resort. many people come over this resort to figure out the blue sand at night. overall, would like to rate this resort 8 out of 10.

Room Tip: choose sea view room. worth for your money.

this resort is located at the very end of 1 side of the beach. have to go through a wooden bridge to go to the resort. food served is good. rooms are clean generally but floor is sandy and toilet is old . however, the air-conditioner goes off and on.and when you are out of the room, it will be automatically off. hot shower is available and they will ring bell when it comes to snorkelling time. there is a bar where you can hang out /play cards/ sing karaoke/drink at night. staff are good - willing to serve when needed. if you don't mind a bit lack of quality, it can be a value for money stay, i can say.

I stayed 4 nights at this resort in March.
After reading the various reviews about this resort, I expected the worst and hence, prepared for it. I packed light as I assumed that I would have to carry my own luggages to the resort. Fortunately, as we arrived, 2 porters came to get our luggages.

We arrived just in time for lunch and during lunch, the friendly resort manager, Johnny welcomed us and gave us a briefing about our stay. If unsure, there are sinages all over regarding meal times and also the daily schedule is displayed in the room.

The rooms turned out to be better than i expected. Still, it is a 'footwear on at all times' type of place, especially the bathrooms. No doubt that the rooms and bathroom would be much better if it were refurbished. My bathroom basin tap did not have a proper knob to turn it on and off as it was broken. Other than the small annoyances, it was pretty relaxing. After all, we were in our rooms to clean up and sleep. All other times, were were lying on the many hammocks, spending time at 'telecommunications centre' as it was the only spot with tele reception. This is the type of resort you come to to be outdoors and get to know others. Not the type for honeymoon.

Food was good with fruits, soup, dishes and drinks all provided buffet style.

The staff were all really friendly and they made a whole lot of difference to our stay.

So if you'd like to stay in this resort, go with a group of friends and hang out together. If you are there with your significant half and like to order room service, stay at another resort.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea, A - O are the best. The ground level rooms can get quite noisy as the kitchen...
