“Wonderfully quaint!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We stayed in Casa Perleta for one night (far too short for Chefchaouen!), but we really had a lovely time at this riad. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - we felt very welcome. I travelled with my mother and we stayed in room 8 as they are able to put two double beds in the room. The room was very spacious and I loved the decor. It is at the same level as the outside terrace, which has lovely views over the town. This is also where breakfast is served and where other guests like to come and relax, so if you are planning on having a siesta it can be a little noisy. A mosque is situated nearby and during our visit a call to prayer was sung very early in the morning (it felt like 4am) - it is on loud speaker and therefore is very loud! It did wake me up, but it was all part of the experience of being in Morocco! If you are a light sleeper, perhaps one of the other rooms that dont face the mosque will be better for you. The breakfast in this riad is incredible - the Moroccan donuts are a must have! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Room 8 is a lovely spacious room

We stayed in Casa Perleta for four nights in August after visiting Marrakech and Fez. Chefchaouen moves at a much slower place and Casa Perleta was the perfect place to relax and unwind. There's a lovely terrace overlooking the medina and hills beyond, where a simple but tasty breakfast is served with plenty of coffee. We stayed in room number 4 and then room 8. Both rooms were lovely and nicely decorated, but no. 8 (the suite) was larger and more impressive. The staff - Ismail, Mohammed and Begona - were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room no. 8 is fantastic and definitely worth spending a bit more. Room 4 was small but clean and ver...

Very clean, peaceful riad. Staff arranged transportation for us from the ferry and even called after we got in the taxi to make sure we'd found the right driver. Absolutely thorough and considerate.
Breakfast was simple but delicious, offered on the hotel balcony. Decor is cute. Room was tidy and because the other rooms were full, we got an upgrade to a bigger room.
Ismail pointed out places of interest on a map and was very kind and cheerful.
The only cons were that WIFI was a little spotty in our room sometimes, and that there was no hairdryer. (My hair's long and thick, so...)
Overall though, very good place to relax and take in Chefchaoeun's beauty.

This is a very tidy, clean, stylishly decorated Riad. Staff excellent, very helpful with anything, excellent with sorting out different points of interest/walks or whatever in the area. Also great with directions within the medina.
Breakfast served on rooftop, excellent. Nice cool rooms, peaceful and great place to relax. Well located, easy walk to main square.
Very friendly staff.

This beautifully decorated hotel is in an easy to find location just inside the medina walls (bab souk entrance). Our room is comfortable with air conditioning and free wi-fi. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast up on the terrace was simple but well done. We felt at home straight away. A great place to stay.

My companion and I were taken here by Mike Newcomb of www.sierrawalks.com and we loved the place. The staff were friendly, efficient and the breakfasts were excellent - the mint tea in particular was wonderfully refreshing (a morning drink, not an evening one). As others have said, it's an ideal base for exploring the city, and the price was very reasonable.
If you want a five star western hotel, this is not the place for you. But, if you want a great Moroccan experience, it is!
You get used to the calls to prayer from the minarets - we stayed there towards the end of Ramadan, when, apparently, they're more frequent.

No just a Riad but an experience.
The staff are really helpful because we really need them. Chefchaouen deserves a couple of days (no much more), but you can get lost if you don't have a guide.
The hotel is very comfortable and very well located.
Don't think we'll travel to Morocco again but if any friend ask us, we'll recommend this place for their stay.
