“Authentic experience!”

We booked this summer a day-trip with Fatima, the friendy owner of gite Talassemtane.
Fatima and her driver picked us up in a jeep/landrover at our hotel in Chefchaoene. It was a very nice day-tour! For us city-people, it was an adventure to ride through the berbervillages allong the dirty road-track, with beautifull different landscapes and vieuws! Fatima buy some ingredients while we walked at a traditional berber-market. This market we will never had been found on our own, in our rental car! When we are in the guesthouse, Fatima prepared a meal of vegetable tajine and fried sardines, the meal was very delicious! Although it was not exactly what we are expecting from a workshop/cooking class, we know now how to cook a Maroccan tajine meal on our own. The gite looks very nice and clean too! Fatima; thank you for the nice day, and we wish you all the best in the future!

Our stay at the Gite was absolutely wonderful. Although we only stayed there for 24 hours, Fatima made sure the experience was the perfect balance of authenticity, luxury, and adventure. I have been living in Morocco for two months and this was by far one of the most unique experiences I have had. From the delicious home-made Moroccan Tajine, to the wonderful hike summating Mount Lakkra, to Fatima's warm welcome, I give the gite 5 stars! Aside from the amazing adventures we had, the gite was also absolutely spotless and beautiful. It is easy to get to from anywhere in the Tangier, Chefchouan, Tethoun region and I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who likes ecotourism or wants to do something off the beaten bath.

In september 2012 I visited for the first time gîte Talassemtane. I was in Morocco as a travel guide by the Belgian travel organisation Joker. We travelled for 22 days in a group with 14 persons.
In Chefchauen we hiked for five hours in the mountains of the Rif. It is a beautiful environment and really nice to meet people ‘on the road’. The guide who joined us was friendly en expertly. After a long walk in the mountains, we arrived in the gîte. It is one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen during our stay in Morocco. The house is nice decorated (with warm colors), it’s very clean and the roof terrace shows an amazing landscape.
We enjoyed the hospitality of our hostess Fatima Habté. She is fabulous because her ideas and philosophy of ecotourism. It is nice to do the cooking workshop, the hiking in the Rif, to talk with Fatima, to visit the market place (if you are lucky) and eat the delicious food, made by the house.
I recommend the gîte with all my heart and really hope to visit Fatima again!

Immediately at our arrival at the gite we received a warm welcome.
Fatima took care of us as she takes care of her children.
we spent 3 days end of September 2012 and although the wether was not very sunny this travel was very agreeable every day. The trips in the mountain was led by her brother who is fully reliable especially when the fog and the rain is coming. splendid view in the mountains and picnic very funny.
We met an authentic family who can exchange views with you on all the subjects you want to discuss.
The food was excellent and various.
my personal experience: I learned to save hot water , to take showers spearingly and not to through the paper in the wc: this is just a question of responsibility and respect of the life condition in the gite.
Strongly recommended for a group of friends or a large family. Very confortable up to 7 people .
the access from the entry of the gite to the house (50 meters) can be improved but we hope that Fatima will suceed to build a small road

Room Tip: Double or triple rooms are available and by chance you can get all the floor only for you group. In...

If there is something that i would recommend wholeheartedly to all individuals who love rural tourism is to visit Chaouen's region. personally, i spent there wonderful 3 days among my close friend, in one of the best guesthouses i ever been to. "Gite Talassemtane" located in the heart of the Rif mountains, and not so far from the beautiful city of Chaouen is honestly a beautiful place to discover.

My friends and I where really surprised by the kindness of Fatima Habté and all her family members, as well as by the quality of the guesthouse's services. thank you Fatima for this unforgettable experience.

During the 3 days we spent there, we had the choice between several activities, however, i highly recommend you to go on a hike in the "Park Talassemtane" and discover another beautiful side of the North of Morocco. People there are all friendly, sincere and very whormhearted.

Being a Moroccan myself, and having visited several parts of my home-country, i was astonished at the beauty of Chaouen's region and the quality of the services proposed by the "Gite Talassemtane".

Hope to all of you to have the opportunity to visit Fatima at her guesthouse, and i'm pretty sure that you will totaly agree with what i have just said.

I booked a hiking trip for my group with Fatima's company. We left from Chefchauen early in the morning, guided by her brother. The trip was simply amazing, beautiful landscape, great route, good guide. We took tons of pictures on the road. A bit after lunch time we arrived a the gite. Fatima and her family prepared us excellent food. It's such a homey place in great surroundings. Definitely will go back for another hike and a relaxing stay at the gite.

Fatima planned 6 days of hiking out over the Rif mountains out to the Mediterranean Sea and arranged a nice hotel in Chefchaouen for us. Her guesthouse outside Chefchaouen at the edge of the Rif was lovely and the food was delicious. Our guide, Bouchta, was wonderful. Our first day was just a day-hike, and her friendly dog, Alex, accompanied us up the mountain as well - a welcome companion. The guesthouses we stayed at were very welcoming, and it was an unforgettable experience. A wonderful way to see a beautiful and welcoming yet often under-appreciated part of the world.
