“A Definite Highlight of Morocco!!”
Reviewed 14 December 2013

My husband and I had an amazing time at this Riad. The staff particularly made a wonderful impression on us. We soon learned that their names (MooMoo & Said) and had fun joking around with them as they made sure we were taken care of.

We arrived in the evening after our long drive with our guide from Fes and had a hearty dinner which was included in the stay. I had one of the best nights of sleep the entire trip here which was probably because of the functional heater and plethora of blankets that they provide. We woke up the next morning to a giant surprise: a view of the Sahara sand dunes! I was surprised they had WIFI but your best bet is in the lobby (why would you need internet in the beautiful Sahara anyhow?!?).

Our camel trek guide (Ahmed) was AMAZING! He was such a sweetheart and was so hospitable during our stay in the desert. He is a great cook (you will have plenty of DELICIOUS food to eat) and he makes your bed ensuring you have enough blankets to keep you warm at night (we had 5). He even made sure to let us know where his tent was and to let him know if we needed anything. On a side note, riding camels is not the most comfortable experience but it is a must!!

Tip: Bring a headlamp for your camel trek. You'll need it when it's pitch black and it will be particularly useful when you need to use the restroom (hands-free!).

Soak it all in, because you're in for one of the most memorable rides of your life!

This is a nice B&B located in a large grove of date palms near the start of our camel overnight trip with Ahmed of Around morocco tours. The location is good it has a nice pool and the rooms are adequate. We stayed one night. We took a walk in the morning to the sand dunes. The service is excellent and the food ok.

As in all the Places we stayed in Morocco the lights are dim. I would advise bringing a flashlight if you are a serious reader and also to find the bathroom in the desert.

The overnight with Ahmed was outstanding. He is the best! He is very experienced, and made the most delicious Tajine of our trip. He is very knowledgeable and is a genuinely kind person as well as a genuine nomad!

The stars are amazing. Our guide had an app on his phone called sky view (?) which told us all of the constellation names, when he held it to the ground it even showed the suns location on the other side of the earth! We drove around the area also to see the mineral deposits and nomad sites. Be careful when buying silver jewelry.

I think this Riad which seems to be family owned and operated is the best in the area of Merzouga .

Loved this riad!!!
We received a warm welcome on arrival. Staff was warm, welcoming and friendly!!! They went out of there way to help when needed. WIFI provided as part of tariff. Riad has a lovely large sitting room in the main house and a nice roof top terrace for meals.

We were given the upper room on the left tower overlooking the pool. Loved it and we'd request it again; it was private, quiet, clean. Bathroom was big with a great shower pressure.

We spent the afternoon lounging, reading at the pool, it was very relaxing and I could understand why this riad is in high demand during the high season with guests staying for a week or two. Pool was unheated but refreshing. We enjoyed watching the birds drop by for a drink.

Dinner and breakfast was served on the roof top deck and was very good, no complaints

I would hesitate to recommend this riad.

We've been back from our 3-week adventure through southern Spain and Morocco for about two weeks, now. Funny thing about such travels ... so much becomes a blur, with snippets of high points that come to memory, even though you didn't realize their impact when they were happening.

Many times it is the people that "make" the experience. In the case of Riad Nezha, that is undoubtedly Mohammed. What a gem! Nothing was too much trouble, from preparing us a fantastic dinner on the incredible terrace under the stars after a somewhat disconcerting after-dark arrival (yes, the other reports about the aggressive "guides" literally chasing you to "help" are all true) to loaning me his VERY own backpack for our bivouac to the desert.

Riad Nezha rooms are OK, view is fantastic, food is wonderful, service by most of the staff is lukewarm (but in all fairness, may be owing to the language barrier with non-Arabic-or-French-speakers), bivouac to the desert as arranged through Riad Nezha was a bucket-list adventure not to be missed, even with the unexpected discomfort of the actual camel ride that has been discussed by others here ... and Mohammed ... the consummate host!

... Oh! Almost forgot! When you bivouac to the desert, the riad needs to have your room open for other occupancy. As instructed, we packed up and left our things for the riad to store in our absense, expecting to return to a small shower room from which to prepare for our journey onward. To our delight, our things were just as we left them in our room, allowing us the use of familiar surroundings to shower and prepare for the day. Nice touch, Riad Nezha. And Mohammed ... you're THE BEST!

After a long drive to Fes, we were happy to arrive at the riad. Although we had made a reservation months before which had been confirmed by e-mail, we got the impression that we were not expected. Luckily they had a nice room for us but reading previous reviews this seems to happen more often. The people working at the hotel all were very nice and helpful but it is also a little bit unorganized.

Our room was spacious with good furniture. It was clean except for a plateau where you can put soap in the shower which looked really dirty covered with old remainders of soap. The dinner in the evening was plentiful as was breakfast in the morning.

We booked the trip to the private camp in the desert for the next day. Ahmed was our camel man and he was really great. It was a small group with 2 other couples, The 90 minute camel trip was amazing as you walk slowly into the beautiful sand dunes but because sitting at the camel was not really comfortable, we didn't mind that we arrived at the camp.

One couple in the group came straight from Fes which made the whole experience really tiring. We all concluded that after coming from Fes it is better to stay a night at the riad to be able to better enjoy the trip in the dessert. During the day you can for example go to the market of Risani.

The camp itself was really nice (on arrival our tents where lit with candles in little lanterns) and sitting on your carpet watching the stars was a wonderful experience. We had taken some drinks and snacks with us so waiting for the meal (about 1 1/2 hour after arriving at the camp) was no problem. (tip: also take a flashlight with you because it can become very dark in the camp and the restrooms are a little walk from the tents). The meal was nice and afterwards Ahmed and his companion performed some local music for us.

We woke up before sunrise and it was a real magical moment. Afterwards we drove back to Merzouga where we were given a room at the riad to shower. It was really nice to freshen up and made us enjoy the breakfast at the riad even more.

Afterwards we left and had plenty of time to reach our next destination in the Dades gorge.

We loved the bivac and can really recommend to do this through Riad Nezha.

We arrived in Merzouga with nothing booked and found the Riad Nezha by a sign on the main road. The welcome could not have been better, whisky bereber and biscuits. The room was terrific and I cannot praise this place enough. The chicken tagine was the best we had in Morocco. Breakfast was OK. Mohamed organised a camel ride to Erg Chebbi for us which was, probably the highlight of our trip to Morocco as this was the desert!! If we are in Merzouga again this where we will stay.

Our tour agent booked us here for a night before and after an overnight in the desert. We had a large clean room and adjoining bath in this new riad. The welcome was outstanding, so gracious and fun. Moroccan Mint tea is always a nice greeting! We had dinner by the pool, along with other guests. The tangines were tasty. Breakfast the next morning was a lovely Continental spread on the terrace. (Our second morning was a slimmer offering, but still good.) I

The riad stored our luggage in the room we slept in the night prior, so basically the room was still ours, even though we were having an overnight out in the desert. The next morning, that shower was so welcome! The Riad Nezha was a very nice place to accommodate us on our Camel Trek.
