It started with a 4x4 drive across the sand dunes. Upon arrival at the camp, the camels were waiting for a ride at sunset. The guide was friendly and communicative, although we spoke different languages. After seeing sunset from one of the highest dunes, we returned to the camp where we were welcomed with the best cookies we had so far and some tea.
The luggage was brought to our tent (which is super comfortable and beautifully designed). Around 8, an elaborate and delicious dinner was served. After dinner, typical Berber music was played for fun, jokes were told, and we laughed the night away. Before sleeping, we laid in the cold night to watch the impressive milky way full of stars.
The breakfast in the morning was very tasty again. The team left us with plenty of time to stay at the camp for as long as we wanted. We walked around the sand dunes and rested a little while before asking the crew to drive us back.
In short, we are very enthusiastic about the entire experience we had. We will remember it for a long time. Thanks to Ahmed and his team for sharing so much of your traditions and providing us with this great 24 hours!
An absolute recommendation, especially for people wanting to support eco friendly tourism as it is the first and only eco friendly camp in the desert: the surplus food is given away to the locals, water is filtered and reused etc.
