everyhting is super fine, accommodation was great, big room, quite and very confortable. Service is excellent, punctual, always smiling. Also the excursion in the desert is very nice, although our campsite excursion was close to a very big party of students, so the magic atmosphere of the derser was gone ( and we choose the most expensive excursion to be deep into the desert). Guides are very nice and friendly, I would really recommend.

We stayed at Kasbah Mohayut in December 2013 for 2 nights. We arrived in the middle of a very windy cold sand storm and, unfortunately could not make it to the desert for our camping trip because of it. The men who run the hotel were so friendly and accommodating. We were offered a room to clean up, they made us a fire, and even went to the village to get us tobacco for shisha!
I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Morocco!!

We had a very spacious, comfortable room and bathroom decorated with Berber rugs. We breakfasted on the terrace with views of the dunes. We could walk to the dunes and the nearby village palmery. The meals were basic but good quality and value.

Kasbah Mahayut is set on the edge of the Sahara dunes which provide a scenic backdrop for this excellent hotel. Built in the style of the old Kasbahs and with rooms that are decorated with a Berber flare but with modern amenities, you are provided comfort and a feeling of stepping back in time. The rooms have both heat and AC which are essential depending in which season you plan on visiting. There are several courtyards were you can relax, eat or even swim (being January we didn’t try the pool). The views from the terraces are spectacular. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

We were greeted warmly by the staff that ensured we were satisfied throughout our stay. Key staff communicated well in either French or English. Breakfast was good (bread, cheese, eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice, pancakes, beverage of choice, fresh fruit); which, should satisfy most people. Dinners, consisting of three courses including soup, dessert, and a choice of two Moroccan main courses, were quite delicious.

The highlight of our stay was our day trip into the desert. The hotel staff will arrange for any type of adventure you wish to experience. Many people choose to sleep under the stars in a Berber camp but as it was January when desert temperatures can drop to near freezing, we chose a day trip instead. We left at 10:00am on our camels in the very cool morning air and were at the camp by noon where our guide prepared a somewhat large and delicious Moroccan lunch. We had the remainder of the afternoon to take in the full impact of the desert in very comfortable 23oC temperatures. Down to t-shirts and bare feet we lounged in the sun as well as explored further into the dunes. The ride back started in late afternoon but soon enough to get us near a high dune which we climbed to watch the sunset.

Unfortunately wifi was only available in the public areas which tended to be quite cold at night. Regardless, I recommend Kasbah Mahayut without hesitation.

Room Tip: All the rooms we checked out looked good. Skip the night trip in the desert in the cold months as y...

We spent the afternoon at this hotel and the staff were very helpful. We then spent overnight in their desert camp which was a great experience. The caravan guides and camp staff are excellent. Def recommended. You can order wine to be taken to the desert from the hotel before you leave. The breakfast at the hotel when you return is lovely and then you can have a shower and freshen up before you move on. The camp is basic, there is a chemical toilet but water is from bottles only. The tents are made of carpets, are quite spacious and are very warm.

We did not stay at the hotel itself, but went out into the desert to stay the evening. While the staff at the hotel itself wasn't exactly friendly, we came in the late afternoon around prayer time. We enjoyed the trip out into the desert and the wonderful staff that hosted us that night. The tents were very warm, and we enjoyed the meal immensely, as well as the campfire and singing. The staff took those that stayed awake on a late night dune hike, and were interested in speaking with us and telling us about life in the desert. The breakfast upon our return to the hotel is very nice, and the hotel is well-kept and clean.

Our family of four stayed at the Kasbah Mohayut over Christmas, 2013 and for all four of us the camel trek was the highlight of our 2 1/2 week trip through Morocco and Spain. The owner, Moha, was warm and welcoming and his kasbah is an atmospheric, comfortable hotel on the edge of the Sahara. That evening we had a star talk by a local Berber astronomer on the roof deck of the hotel. The next day Moha took us on a tour of Rissani, the local irrigation system and the family farms in the desert oasis. Late that afternoon we saddled up and rode 2 hours out to a desert camp complete with comfortable tents, a bathroom with a flush toilet and a dining tent. We watched the sunset, had a delicious dinner and played the drums around a campfire. The next morning after watching the sun rise, we had hot mint tea and rode the camels back to the Kasbah Mohayut for hot showers and breakfast. Don't miss this experience - the desert is lovely and you'll see more stars than you ever knew existed. The Berber hosts are so hospitable and warm. We had been without luggage for almost a week at that point and Moha made sure we were fully equipped for the cold - he even gifted us with djellabas. Altogether a wonderful stay!
