“Favorite hotel in morocco !!!”
Reviewed 5 April 2009

After a 3 week stay in morocco, this was our favorite hotel. Location is fantastic, right across from the sand dunes. You can walk up to the desert when ever you wish. Totally incredible and worth the visit. Nobody should go to Morocco and not see the desert. Food was great and so was the staff, really friendly. The room was spacious and colorfull. The only negative point is that the beds are a little too hard.
We took a camel ride at sunset, was excellent too. This place is much prettier in person than pictures seen on their website. Really does not do it justice.
Great place - do not hesitate to choose this hotel.

Mohamed was excellent in his communication before we arrived. We arrived at 5:30 in the morning on the night bus from Fes and he was there and picked us up at the bus stop. Gave us a room to rest in for a few hours before we took a 1/2 day tour around the area. then we took the afternnoon trip into the desert and spent the night. Accomodation in the hotel and the desert were great. food is wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone. He also offers 1/2 day hikes out into the desert. there is a small pool that is wonderful to sit around and a beautiful terrace that looks out onto the dunes. it's a great place.

The room was very nice. The heater took a little time to kick in but we were told that it was because of low voltage that day. The food was excellent and a pleasant change from the mediocre food we had been having in other hotels.

But perhaps the most memorable was the one night we spent in the deep desert. The camel ride was a lot of fun. We watched the sunset, had a great dinner and listened to drums and Arabic music while watching the night sky. The bed and tents in the camp were quite comfortable. The staff were very warm and friendly and professional.

My wife and I stayed at the Kasbah Mohayut for three nights including one night in the Berber tents out among the dunes. We found the rooms to be very large and comfortable, we booked one of their suites, with a large bathroom. Our room was located by the pool which was convenient.

The roof top of the hotel has amazing views over the dunes and there is a lovely inner garden where lunch and drinks are served. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style and quite adequate but not gourmet fare.

The best feature of the hotel is the owner, Mohammed. We spent three weeks traveling around Morocco on our own and although we found everyone to be very friendly and helpful, Moha took top prize in this regard. We were taking an overnight bus to Meknes which arrived at 4:00 am and I was concerned about getting in the middle of the night. Next thing we knew, Moha was on the phone with the propritor of our Riad in Meknes and the problem was solved. He also drove us to the bus station at no charge and helped us check in and get organized. Wonderful host.

The tour to the dunes is a must do and from what I have seen and heard be sure to book the deep camp which is away from roads and other camps. It is a wonderful experience which includes a 45 minute camel ride to get there. The meal was surprisingly good and the beds very comfortable.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and kids (aged 11 and 12). Nice clean hotel, good pool, and 'OK' breakfast.

We contacted Moha directly (based on other trip advisor recommendations), and we must say that we were not disappointed.
He arranged to pick us up from Marrakech. His cousin Mr Ali picked us up in a comfy Land Cruiser, drove us to Merzouga and back to Marrakech. He was very professional, very courteous,a nd above all, a great driver!

I highly recommend this hotel and the tour they helped us organize, which included an overnight camping in the dunes at erg chebbi

My wife and I spent two nights at Kasbah Mohayut as part of our honeymoon, and it was by far the best experience we had in all of Morocco. The combination of the great hotel, incredible and friendly staff, and a remarkable camel ride and night in the desert was like nothing else we did. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming and there is nothing better than a swim in the pool in the middle of the hot day sun.

A trip into the dunes, arranged by the hotel, is a must. Spectacular scenery and an unforgettable experience sleeping in the middle of the dunes. Our trip included an english family, a french family, a french couple and us. A wonderful mixture of cultures and people, including our Berber guides. Highly recommended!

1 night at camel bivouac & 1 night at hotel.

Good service the whole time.

Professional guide for camels for group of 7 (incl. 2 of us) leaving the hotel at 5pm for the dunes, dinner at the camp, overnight in tents, then return via dromidaire to the hotel for 1 night in a room.

Very windy upon our arrival, and for ride out to camp. About an hour and a bit ride out to camp. Big table set up at camp that could have seated about 12, I suppose. The camp is fenced in with attaching tents and laid out on carpets; sheltered from the wind.
The food was the best we ate in Morocco, while at camp!

Outhouse with an RV-style throne inside.
The dunes were incredible once the wind stopped.

Beds were comfy and no bugs in the tents. Slept pretty good!

Awake at dawn for pics, tea and a ride back to the hotel. Spectacular memories and photos...Not to mention the experience of riding camels in the Sahara...

The hotel room was decent and clean. No TV. Good bathroom too with lots of hot water, but no a/c for part of the afternoon...It worked later in the day. Private terrace looking out across the sand...Very nice.

There were lots of flies about outside which were a bit of a nuissance while trying to relax, but not in the room at all. I guess they can't control everything.
The lighting was kind of dim in general at the kasbah.

Buffet for breakfast & dinner...It was okay, but the food was better at camp!

The service was good, and the staff looked happy to be of usefulness to the guests. Both Mohamed the manager & Mohamed the guide were very friendly, spoke decent English, and made for a good visit to the erg.

Good pool and roof areas too!

This is not the Ritz-Plaza, but certainly more than adeqate, considering it's location and purpose.

We would certainly recommend the Mohayut to others seeking the Chebbi experience!
