Like many travelers, we spent a single night in the desert.
At 6:30pm in the evening we took a 90min camel ride to the camp. Considering we travelled in September, the temperature was 39 when we left. The ride was amazing though, and the temp became comfortable as we approached sunset - 7:35pm.
The camp is nestled between two dunes, and consists of 8 tents. By comparison, the camp is smaller than many of surrounding options - one of the reasons we opted for Azawad. On arrival we drank tea and were taken to our tent; the tent had a double bed, couch, as well as a small shower and flushing toilet. Although there is electricity, the rooms are not air-conditioned. There are a couple of plugs in the room, if you need to charge a phone / hair dryer etc.
The food at the camp was a highlight - supper was a four course meal, which we enjoyed more than any of our meals at the hotels / restaurants we ate in during our stay in Morocco.
The staff were great too, friendly and attentive.
In the evening, we walked up a nearby dune, where a table and chairs are setup to watch the sunset / sunrise.
The total experience was amazing, from beginning to end. We would highly recommend Azawad camp.
