“Good but cold place”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

After staying at nice places until we arrive to this hotel, we found it cold (physically cold in the room since the only A/C is not enough to warm up the room and the bath during December). It is clean place but not in walking distance to anywhere.

Food was ok but not special. Staff were friendly.

Room Tip: if summer it can be good to relax by the pool.

We decided to splurge a little after spending a night in a desert camp and this hotel was worth every penny. From the moment we walked in we loved it. We were greeted warmly by the staff and had tea in a lounge area which was cute, cozy and smelled good. Our room was spacious, had a small balcony facing the pool and we had the best hot shower during our 10 days in Morocco. Breakfast and dinner were super delicious and Khalid our waiter was always very professional and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with him about Morocco and our travels. The is an excellent place to relax, unwind and have superb service. I highly recommend it!

My wife and I spent one night at Dar Chamaa on our way to Ati Ben Haddou from the Sahara. We arrived in the evening to a busy but cold reception. Our room was functional and clean in a very modern style. There was no safe or television in the room. The food and the service in the Riad were poor. It was operated in a very dysfunctional style. Not impressed in the slightest. Would not stay here again.

Really enjoyed being in this charming hotel...Would like to stay longer next time. The helpful staff told us about a superb Berber shop..It was like an Ali Baba cave...full of treasures..Also enjoyed theterrace surrounding the swimming pool... I was on a Travel agents trip..We were all from the Province of Quebec in Canada..I live in Montreal....

We stayed here on a 4 day guided tour from Marrakech to Errachidia. The tour company we went through booked it, so we dont know how much it cost but we figured that it was not cheap.

We never left the hotel because it is not within walking distance to anything. The hotel was very clean and well run but it was definitely not a hotel I would have picked on a low-med $$ budget. There was a very nice pool and free wi-fi which was great. Dinner was good, typical chicken tangine. Dinner was a buffet and not very good. Too many breads and not enough fruit, egg or other options.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which has a great view of sunset.

We loved Dar Chamaa; one of our favourite riads in Morocco. It's a stylish riad with elegant contempory Moroccan decor. The impressive building itself is in the traditional Kasbah style with towers. It's quite lovely. We stayed for only one night as part of a tour but would loved to have stayed longer.

It's out of town a bit, and in quite an 'ordinary' residential area, but once you enter the building into the foyer you are in another world. It's very elegant and spacious with a relaxing atmosphere. Lots of candles in wall niches and a beautiful outdoor area and pool; quite gorgeous; a real oasis.

We were just happy to relax and have dinner at the riad after a long day on the road; but if you don't have a driver it may be an issue not being in the town centre.

The staff are friendly and the rooms (like the whole Riad) are spacious and very clean. The bathroom particularly was very spacious with plenty of space to put your things, unlike many riad bathrooms, which often don't have much counter space.

Dinner was great and we enjoyed some excellent local wine. Breakfast was also very good.

Although not in the centre of Ouarzazate this is a lovely riad and would definately recommend.

Danielle

This is a modern, clean riad just outside the city. If you don't have transportation you will be quite isolated as there is not much commercial activity in the area. The incense in the courtyard is overpowering. The swimming pool and patio are are very welcoming. The pool does not appear to be heated so will be quite cold outside summertime. The bathrooms are small but tastefully decorated with modern fixtures. The rooms are not soundproof so any conversations or activity in the central lobby are audible in your room.

Room Tip: With a balcony overlooking the pool.
