“Beautiful 18th century kasbah to enjoy”
Reviewed 28 March 2014 via mobile

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Ben Morro. It is very authentic and atmospheric. The pool area and the roof top terraces are especially inviting. It is a bit rustic if coming from very high end hotels in Fes or Marrakesh but rooms are comfortable, food and service were good and we found it to be just what we were looking for. The walking through the oasis to the other kasbahs is wonderful and relaxing. A much nicer choice than Ourzazate.

We stayed for one night in the Kasbah Ait Ben Moro, an original kasbah, all renovated and very well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - the staff were very friendly, the location is very convenient to go for a walk in the oasis and view some of the sights of Skoura and the rooms have a great ambiance. We only stayed once in a kasbah while travelling in Morocco and it is an experience which I can highly recommend. The food in the restaurant was good, yet the portions were quite small. The highlight of the place is certainly the backyard with pool, lounge area and a great view of the oasis and the Atlas mountains. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 instead of the 2 nights we planned as we loved the atmosphere here. We had the room in the tower with bedroom( good matress!) ,bathroom( simple) in between room with 2 daybeds and a big sitting room with a huge fireplace( which they lighted for us every night!) a small balcony on our floor on the east side and a roof terrace on the west side overlooking the palmeraie and the ksar. Lovely garden and pool. We had dinner every night in the house by the pool with the woodstove . Good home made food. Be sure to walk in the palmeraie and see the vegetable plots and the intricate water system. A wonderful 3 days!

Room Tip: We had the tower room. I think that would be the best.

A young couple lost in the palmeraie of skoura in the dark- and then we stumble across this gem- a kasbah renovated with excellent taste. The staff were wonderful and we had the best suite in the house ( i think!)- a log fire burnt in the grate of our private living room where we asked for the delicious dinner of chicken tagine with figs (the best we had in Morocco) to be served. The views in the morning were spectacular over the palmeraie with the snow capped mountains beyond. Everything was pure luxury, down to the thoughtful touches of lighting a fire in the lounge with a view a few hours before we had asked for breakfast. Overall, we felt this hotel was welcoming, special and very reasonably priced.

We stayed in a junior suite and I struggle a bit with my review. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. The shower did not drain properly on the second morning of our stay. The room heater worked well. There's a nice terrace with a small lap pool (not heated and not in use during our stay) but there was some construction happening. This hotel disappointed us in the service...not comparable to other places we stayed. We did not have a car and were eating here. Our first night was excellent food and the second night not so much. The quality of breakfast at the hotel was the "poorest" of anywhere we stayed. Cleanliness of the bathroom was just OK, the tablecloths in the dining room were flat out dirty (not impeccable in a few places we stayed - by far the worst here). Only 3 thin towels, but they were changed daily. No shampoo. We had a small balcony - bird droppings on it. The sitting area (which I assume could be used as sleeping area) was not heated.

We had a wonderful stay here in December. Despite the cold weather our room was very warm and we had a good shower. The views from the rooms and the rooftop were spectacular with the snow capped mountains in the distance. The dining room had an open fire which was on for dinner however not for breakfast which was quite cold.

Room Tip: We had a room on the top level that looked over the palmery however I'm sure that all the rooms...

A friend and I stayed in this nicely-renovated and striking (genuine pisé) kasbah for two nights as part of a Moroccan road trip. It proved to be comfortably the highest quality place we stayed in during the trip, with the best service, plus it represented the best value for money. It is also a place of real character, purchased by Juan - a welcoming Spaniard we met during our stay, and run by Aziz - the ever-smiling and interesting manager.

The kasbah has a stunning feature swimming pool and a great view of the oasis behind. The simply-furnished twin room consisted of one double and one single bed, which was fine apart from the usual Moroccan problem of a lack of artificial light. One of the plug points didn't look particularly safe either. The bathroom was fine with a decent shower.

The food was very good Moroccan fare, but it was the level of service that made our stay such good value for money. All the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I was impressed when the waiter made me some thyme tea, instead of the usual mint tea, when he realised that I was unwell.

I would definitely stay at this kasbah again if I were to return to the area.
