Went there with 4 friends for a week. We had a blast!!! Ryan, Angie and the cutie pie Jasmine were so good to us. Great food (everything is local), clean, and we even have our "own beach". Sleeping in a hammock and swimming was my fav activity. All the locals were friendly.

What a fabulous place this is and lovely people (plus baby Jasmin) running it. It's got a communal sleeping area and some private cabins, brilliant chefs and interesting guests.
Great for a long trek to the top of the volcanoes or to the waterfall but it was too much like hard work for me. I planned on staying a week but left after a day.

Room Tip: Communal is fine

We loved this place. Lovely clean cabins and communal eating/relaxing area in a tranquil setting. The homemade food served by friendly staff was excellent. We loved the nature trails, flowers, birds and wildlife. Ryan and Angela have created a charming place for both their guests and baby Jasmine. We felt very lucky to share it with them. We loved the whole beautiful island, the locals are very friendly and we didn't even mind the rough roads! It is well worth the quirky ferry ride and journey.

My family and I stayed here twice during our travels in Nicaragua. We came back the second time because we loved it so much we wanted our daughter to experience it! It is out of the way but thats what makes it an adventure. The food was the best we found in our Nicaraguan travels! Every meal was fabulous, the staff was charming. I can't add anything that others haven't already said! Finca Mystica is a magical place that my family feels blessed to have experienced. Thanks Ryan, Angie, and baby J for sharing your piece of heaven and for following your dreams for Finca Mystica to become a reality and sharing it with others.

Ometepe was a time of recovery and respite from our weeks of travel in Nicaragua, and Finca Mystica was the perfect place for us.

We stayed 5 nights in late March, at the hottest time of the year, but found we could escape to the lovely beach right near the property, and our cabin caught the breeze really well. There were hardly any mosquitos - a bonus for us! We stayed in cabin #2 which was kept clean; had lovely decorations; the bed was really comfy; and the bathroom was great. They also have a really great communal space where we frequently relaxed on hammocks and I caught up on work online.

THE FOOD is so delicious, fresh and homemade. The nicaraguan staff do a great job in the kitchen. We can't rave enough about it, but Ryan and Angela are so humble and easy-going about their little hideaway. They were perfect hosts, happy to give advice on our travels and just fun to have a chat with.

My boyfriend and I have already recommended Finca Mystica to travellers we've met in Little Corn. We wish the very best for this young and innovative family!

What a treat! We knew that this would be a great place to visit, but it exceeded our expectations. Idyllic location with garden setting and also nature trails back in the forest. This seems remote, but the road on south side of island makes many places an easy walk. Hosts Ryan & Angela are very helpful to guests and help arrange local experiences like kayaking and hiking. But, they are also very connected to the local community of Merida and Congo. The college student interns that help with the local community center lend a lot of good community spirit and energy to the lodge's environment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cabins allow easy enjoyment of nature including many birds, howler monkeys, butterflies, and flowers. Cascada San Ramon and Maderas Rainforest are fairly close and easy to get to. This could be a go-to place for birders if they knew more about it. Parrots and trogons common on property. Kudos to staff. This place is just going to get better. Recommended.

Room Tip: Our cabin was on East side, but all looked nice.

I had the pleasure of staying at Finca Mystica in March 2014 with two girlfriends. Don't let the unpaved dirt road on this part of Ometepe deter you - it can be a bit of a journey to get to Finca Mystica and it is a little remote from the bustling little ferry town of moyogalpa but you won't be disappointed. I was in Nicaragua for two weeks and they had the best rates for the quality of accommodation we found and by far the best food. Angela and Ryan and their staff are super helpful. They helped us book a boat ride to a river we kayaked, and gave us directions to a great hike to a nearby waterfall. It was great to come back each night and chill on the patio in hammocks - reading books and playing cards/games with the other guests. They serve their fabulous dinner to all guests at 7pm and you have a choice between two amazing options. It was great to eat together and chill out together as a group. I love being in the wilderness and I loved how remote this little slice of paradise was. It's worth the trek and the only disturbance you'll have are the howler monkies swinging in the over head tree tops. So cool. You won't be disappointed here if you aren't afraid of a little adventure and don't mind being away from the action of moyogalpa for a night or two. Highly recommended.
