We (2 adults and 2 kids between 5 and 10) stayed with Hari, Mirka, and Marilena for 4 nights in November 2013. FMS' Mamacita and Papacita were our favorite housing options during our 2.5 week tour of Nicaragua. The cabins are clean, beautifully constructed, and have amazing walk in showers. Every night we were able to sleep with the windows open because there were so few mosquitoes. A truly fantastic set of accommodations. Also on the top of our lists were the breakfasts that the staff prepared each morning. We all enjoyed the freshly made yogurt, juice, and fruit that appeared each morning along with the stellar bread that came from Moyogalpa. After ten days without bread, I was thrilled to see it appear each morning on the breakfast table. Toast has never tasted so good especially after you spread some pineapple marmelade on top. Mirka's dinners (order by 3pm) were welcome change from comida typica and over salted tourist food. Our last suggestions are that you make sure you take a horse ride and head over to the Omaja for a refresco and swim in the infinity (see our reviews). FMS is slightly challenging location to get to, but if you want to relax in beauty and stay active than Merida and a stay with Hari, Mirka, and Marilena are for you.

Room Tip: Book the mamacita and the papacita for their excellent quality and views!

We stayed at this place for only one night and regretted that we didn´t stay longer. Hari has really built up a beautiful finca. The rooms are clean and located in very nice small houses. Most of them have a great view. You can go horseback riding with Hari´s horses, walk to one of the beaches nearby, have lunch and enjoy the pool at nearby Omaja, go kayaking or just relax in your hammock. So even though this is an isolated place, plenty to do to keep you busy. Breakfast is really good, to. Just make sure you order dinner before 3PM because otherwise you will have to walk in the dark to a nearby place. But definitely a recommendation.

Set way back from the road along a rough track (this is a bonus for tranquility) Hari and Mirka have a fantastic Finca with three rooms - one separate cabana and one double story one. We had the top room in the double story and the view is amazing. Relaxing on the Hammock (Hari - you need two hammocks per room!!) watching the sunset across the lake and highlighting the volcanoes is just great.

Mirka is also an awesome cook so be sure to book in for a dinner (let them know by 3pm) or you are missing out.

breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast and (awesome) coffee is also included and you need to consider this when looking at alternatives re pricing.

Hari's horses are also on site which is great if you love horses as you can spend some time bonding!

We came for 3 days and stayed 8. :) and we'll be back!

In a 4x4 it takes about an hour from Mojogalpa or San Jose to get to Hari's and Mirka's finca which is surrounded by a beautiful lush garden and guarantees greats views of the lake and the two volcanoes. The lovely couple offers 3 new spic and span cabins with moskito nets (there were fewer moskitos than we had expected) and hammocks. In the morning you can expect a hearty breakfast with fresh juice, fruit, eggs, warm bread, jam etc. before Hari takes you to San Jamon waterfall or to one of the many other places worth visiting on the island. Unlike most horses you will find in Nicaragua, Hari's horses are well fed and he takes excellent care of them. They are perfect also for beginners. The German-Italian couple can also arrange kayak tours to River Istian where we were lucky to see kaymans and turtles thanks to our English-speaking guide. From the finca you can easily reach the trail to the vulcano. Within a 15-minute walk you can find nice places for dinner and small shops. For us Finca Montania Sagrada was the perfect starting point for the trips we had planned and we would definitely come back here! Bring your torch and don't be afraid of the bunch of dogs the two own, the dogs do a great job at night time ;)!

We stayed at Harri's several days and loved it. Beautiful views and surroundings (volcanoes and lots of animals), great accommodation, tasty food (both at the Finca and local eateries) and very warm, welcoming owners who are open to talk about their lives and experiences in Nicaragua and the rest of the world. We did the kayaking tour at Caballito's (saw many caimans) and the 4-hour horse ride to the waterfall. We had no experience with horses but Harri made sure that we and the horses were comfortable - it was fantastic to see nature from a different perspective without having to look at the ground all the time. The way from Moyagalpa to the finca is a bit rough but we found a taxi driver willing to take us right to the entrance for $30, otherwise you can call Harri to arrange a pick-up. Breakfast was very rich and varied - the best we had in Nicaragua. I would really recommend this place for the laid-back, quiet atmosphere and the friendly people (and other earthlings) living there.
