We stayed at buena vista for 2 nights. We took a taxi from myogalpa for 20usd and after finding two other places full we landed here. The room is spacious with a private bathroom. Compared to other budget rooms, these stand above average around nicaragua. suprisingly the rooms are quite cool compared to other Nica fan rooms. The biggest issue is the freezing water. Abnormally cold, barely tolerable. Otherwise the room was clean, a couple lizards but no other bugs. The grounds are nice right on a gorgeous beach. Tons of hammocks and seating area. A small market across the street, about 6 close restaurants, half of which are budget. Nothing else close. We rented a motorbike across the road to explore the island. 35 per day. Bike was kinda crappy but worked. Highly recommend the ojo de augua and the charco Verde trail (awesome beach with the best few of maderas). We attempted to go to san ramon falls but the road there is awful you need a dirtbike not a typical scooter. Renting a car would have been better.
Pros: 25 dollars, good location, , decent room, nice grounds, 30 minute stroll to the ojo de auga (refreshing swimming hole), central, cheap to get to from the ports.
Cons: the front desk is really nice but very limited English so difficult to get information from. Freezing showers.
