“Amazing value in a somewhat secluded paradise”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed here two nights in one of the front cabins, without A/C (but you don't need it because of the breeze). The place is situated on a large area with cabins scattered around - opt for the lake facing ones. There is a beach with black soft volcanic sand, and the view is amazing. Laid back atmosphere, easy reach for island capital Moyagalpa, OK food with OK prices in the on site restaurant. If you want other food you can go for nearby resort Charco Verde, or walk for 20 minutes to nearby San Jose, that has several comedors.

My family and I stayed here in June of 2014, and enjoyed it very much. We rented a little cabin with two floors, each holding a bedroom and bathroom. Each level had a nice little porch with an incredible view of the lake which was a thirty second walk from our cabin! The restaurant was good, and the folks who worked in the restaurant were very nice. The prices were really good both at the hotel and the restaurant. We loved the open air patio filled with hammocks. While there, the hotel arranged a really good tour for us with Wellmore and his wife Zinia. They took us on a great hike part of the way up one of the volcanoes, then to see lots of monkeys, and later to beautiful Ojo del Agua for a swim. We would definitely stay here again. A nice place for families, couples, singles, and groups!

Room Tip: The cabins that face the water are awesome!

We didn't succeed in getting a reservation through email but once we arrived we got a wonderful room on the second floor with balcony. The staff is friendly and helpful, will set you up with tours of the island and the restaurant on the premises serves fantastic food. This is a place where one could stay much longer than the 3 nights we were there. We absolutely loved it and the island of Ometepe. A big thank you to Finca Venecia!

I’ve been to Isla de Ometepe a few times and why it took me so long to find this place is beyond me !! I do have to thank JM Adventures in Moyogalpa for referring me to my new favorite place on the water.

The Finca grounds are covered in greenery and lots of flowers. You have different types of rooms/cabins to choose from and you can walk to the water. We stayed in cabin 15 at the edge of the lake. We had 2 dbl beds, lots of screened windows, wall mounted fan, awesome balcony with water views and a shower with hot water. Having HOT WATER in the bathroom is a very HARD commodity to find on the island. No A/C and did not miss it. The screened windows were nice but your neighbors are very close. Windows and blinds open = No privacy. The 2nd level waterfront rooms do have VERY steep stairs and aren’t for anyone with mobility problems. It’s super quiet (unless you have noisy neighbors) and you can hear the water at night. The cabin was clean. I will definitely stay here again. Another plus - they do accept credit cards.

You will need some type of transportation if you want to easily get to other food choices and/or explore the island. My exploring trip report will be under Isla de Ometepe. The onsite restaurant was fine, but you are paying a little more than what you could get elsewhere.

You will want to take the Ferry for 55 C$ each person from San Jorge to San Jose (not Moyogalpa) if your plan is to stay here. It’s less than 10 mins from the San Jose dock to the Finca.

Room Tip: You can't beat waterfront !

Super great. Super people. Super room. Super comfy. Super food. Super place. Super clean. Super safe. Super beach. Lots of space. Super calm. Super Hotel. Easy to access from Moyogalpa by "Tuk Tuk", taxi or bus.

Room Tip: Pick the one facing the lake even if they are more expensive, they're very Worth it for the view...

Wow a great view from our lakeside balcony, great shower, peace and quiet just the sound of the waves and the birds to wake you up. Service is adequate, the food in the restaurant is very good and they do not over charge even though they have a captive audience. Other eating places are quite a walk away. Not a lot else to do other than relax. Wifi ok but no good for Skype, but hey we can all do without that for a few days. We stayed 3 nights.

Room Tip: Spend $35 and get a lake view, go upstairs you won't need an aircon as the windows let in enough...

Eating and drinking on your deck with a view of the lake. I don't think it gets much better. Spacious room with plenty of hot water. Huge choice of food from the restaurant all reasonably priced. Nice and relaxed place just to hang-out

Room Tip: ask for lakeside
