Lagos Airport Hotel

This hotel is very entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

Staff service - staff at reception are off-hand. Basically the attitude is "take it or leave it"

Rooms - you have to pay by cash only and can only pay one day at a time. If you do not pay by mid-day they put a padlocked metal bar across your room door and you have to go to reception to pay. Rooms are very basic and the sheets are possibly clean but was not sure

Food - interesting is the best way to describe the food. Great if you want to lose weight

Changing money - you go outside in the courtyard where a hoard of people surround you asking for your hard cash for Naira's. They seem to be friendly enough but do need to be careful

Security - most security staff are armed which is good but not sure if this helps if there is a problem

Aircon in the rooms is noisy

Internet - very slow.

A colleague from Australia was with me and this was his first trip to Nigeria. This hotel did not give him a very good first impression.

New management is needed and lots of investment would be a good idea.

Wonderful hotel with good service and helpful attitude to guest. I love the food, also the rooms are big enough and prices well within common man's reach. Also I love the girls Working hear, they help me a lot

I attended a conference holding in the hotel and I decided to stay there for convenience purposes.
The hotel is obviously old and the management have done a lot to renovate it but you can still see the evidence of its past glory all around. The surroundings look weather beaten and the facilities that should otherwise be present like stores are not functional. You don't get the sense of luxury that you would expect for the kind of price been charged
The staff are usually courteous and well behaved and seem eager to make you satisfied like Oluwatosin who would always call to confirm if I enjoyed my meal ordered via room service.
For a non Nigerian coming to the hotel, there is a sense of safety especially when you enter the hotel because of the various checks you get to pass through and you get the same sense of safety when you decide to visit the poolside.
I reckon the hotel is pricey for the facilities offered and the management should have added free internet to make it more competitive despite the added breakfast
Ordinarily I may visit the hotel again but then I believe that I'd get more for the same price elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for discount before making your reservation. Ask for rooms at the end of the corridor as sounds...

We were on a 3 day training to this hotel and it was not a pleasant stay for me and my group. Julia vitullo Martin titled it a "comedy hotel" All we could do was laugh off the stress, pain and food!

The building needs a total revamp. The furniture is totally worn out and needs immediate attention. The food is tasteless and extremely expensive! The staff are very non chalant and have no courtesy. My room was never cleaned until I make atleast three calls!
Food and room service was never on time. Power outage occurred every 30 minutes ( no jokes) for the whole period we were here.

The towels need total change and so do their cleaners who are careless about cleaning. Many a times the mop stick was left at my door step even though my room went uncleaned. The bedsheets etc all need total makeover.

my colleagues and I have terrible issues with our stomach on the first day after the meals and that scared most of them from eating at the hotel.

Be wary of the lifts! it gets stuck every minute and no one may notice you are in there!

The hotel is at a central location that should give it good business. BUT......

Room Tip: rooms on the main block are better

This place is much closer to the air port than Eko hotel. It has its reception almost by the gate in a separate building that contains the bookshop, a hall used by a church, the restaurant and other rooms with other facilities. The food is good but expensive so we eat outside. Breakfast is with the rooms and very good. You can eat as much as you want but cannot take away.
The car pack is inside and well secured. The rooms are good and on many long tall buildings. For security you pass through a narrow gate one at a time. This is also the security post.
I have been here several time on my way in or out of Nigeria on medical missions with Pro-Health International headed by Dr Ibanga and Samaritan feet headed by Manny.
The rooms are good. Most times I got the ground floor which is old. In one of the rooms I stayed in the bed had more than one mattress. I like the very solid well polished furnitures. They are so heavy that you cannot just move them. They had solid heavy curtains too which I found difficult to move aside to see outside. Anyway all I want is a place to rest and catch my flight on time. For this it is very convenient to avoid Lagos hold up. I must say I admire all the staff always dressed in Adire
They provide news papers every morning.
Because it is expensive, for stay more than a day, I use Bishop court which is also in Ikeja. If you book your taxi early you will not miss your flight

I flew in from London and needed a quiet place to rest for the weekend, and equally meet with my business partners.
The room setting was functional enough for our meeting, as there was a well set out reading table and a good socket to plug my laptop. The food throughout my stay was always warm and tasty; but the furniture was in state of decay. The poolside was bubbling with activity, and I found it exciting all through my stay.

The location is ideal but the facilities are o worn and shabby. It is the same as the last time I used it. Grossly over staffed by inefficient people that openly solicit for money. The management should revamp the image and improve facilities. It is guaranteed patronage due to location and past glory. I will use it again, grudgingly though or safety and convenience reasons
