We arrived into Aqua Calientes, got off the train and walked a short distance to our hotel. This little town is a wild place. It sits as the jump off point to Machu Picchu. End of the line for all tourists, and all things Machu Picchu. It is built at the bottom of a steep gorge on the side with a raging river flowing through the middle. As you walk up to the hotel, you pass a traffic jam of trinkets and tourist novelties. Cross the little man bridge and up a cobbled stone walkway to our hotel. This little gem was a great find. We liked everything about it. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was great and modern. Very clean and one of the most comfortable beds that we had in Peru. The WiFi was good. They included breakfast which worked for me. We left our main bags at the hotel for safe keeping while we went to Machu Picchu, not a problem. All in all, we highly recommend it.
