We stayed with Puna Inn as part of our paid trek to Machu Picchu. We found the staff to be incredibly rude and unhelpful. They took our passports and refused to give back as their photocopier wasn't working even though they were aware we had to get up at 3.45 for our walk to Machu Picchu. In the morning there was no one at the desk despite being told the night b4 it is always attended, we however did find our passport s which were on the counter for all to see.
The accommodation was not clean, the blankets were dirty and smelly. Also noise travels and echoes. Other guests arrived back at 11.30 pm and were yelling and talking until about 12.30 am - the Puna Inn staff did not intervene. Only good point - the shower was hot.
We have sent this feedback to the trek operator. Our advice to other MP trekkers if you have an early start this is not the place for a rested break before a trek.
I have never written a review like this b4 that is because I have never experienced such bad service before.More
